Role Title: AVP, IAM Automation Engineer (L10)

Organizational Overview:

This role will be part of Synchrony IAM Programs Development and Automation team which ties to Synchrony Information Security team. The AVP, IAM Automation Engineer will report to Product Owner. This role is responsible for handling Synchrony’s IAM automation initiatives which involves development activities while supporting the existing product. Candidate will have to closely work with various Stakeholders & Product Owners across organization. 

Role Summary/Purpose: 

Synchrony Financial, IAM automation engineering team provides visibility of critical security aspects to end users and applications. The AVP, IAM Automation Engineer will be a key subject matter expert to drive design, development and support services for indigenous application built for handling IAM services. And, also partner in driving strategic automation initiatives at scale. This position will work with our business partners and stakeholders to develop solutions to suit their needs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement and maintain indigenous solution built for handling IAM operations. 

  • Ensure IAM native solutions comply with best practices following Industry standards defined for Financial institutions. 

  • Identify opportunities to drive integration with existing IT infrastructure. 

  • Responsible for coordinating with stakeholders and gathering business requirements. 

  • Responsible for driving the development lifecycle from proposal to implementation. 

  • Identify and evaluate complex business processes and technology gaps in internal risk controls.  

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 to 5 years of experience in Information Technology OR in lieu of a degree minimum 6 to 7 years of experience in Information Technology in hands on technical role 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with Identity Authentication and Authorization technologies including Active directory, Microsoft Entra, AWS IAM, SailPoint, and Okta 

  • Minimum 2 year experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban)

  • Proficiency in at least 1 or more programming and scripting languages such as Powershell, Shell, Python, PL SQL & SQL Queries, APIs 

  • Experience with Identity Lifecycle management and orchestration tools. 

  • Should have proven knowledge and exposure in handling automation in a holistic approach.  

 

Desired Skills/Knowledge:  

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to details. 

  • Strong communication and Collaboration skills. 

  • Ability to articulate the stakeholder requirements into technical requirement. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders, team members, management and external groups. 

  • Candidate should be able to operate independently with assertive communication. 

  • Experience with AWS IAM or Oracle APEX is a plus. 

Eligibility Criteria:

Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 to 5 years of experience in Information Technology OR in lieu of a degree minimum 6 to 7 years of experience in Information Technology in hands on technical role 

Work Timings: 2pm to 11pm IST

(This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
