Senior Network Engineer

Noble Corporation is hiring for a Senior Network Engineer at our Corporate Office. This position is responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing of network infrastructure and supporting systems by performing a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure that Noble corporate integrated network performance meets company and user satisfaction. This position provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Project

• Technical Lead for Projects
• Assume lead technical role in Telecommunication and Network infrastructure projects including the following tasks:
• Business case development
• Task level plan development
• Acquisition planning
• Identification of risks and possible remediation actions
• Telecommunication team resource allocation
• Status and closure reporting
• Clearly communicate technology issues, plans and solutions from both a business perspective and a technical perspective.

Operations and information system design, architecture and administration

• Maintain the design and configuration documentation for the global Noble corporate integrated network including LAN, WAN and WLAN
• Strongly contribute to execution and management of service life cycle including:
• Policies/SLA negotiation and adherence
• Establishment of metrics
• Reporting
• Continuous improvement
• Oversee the design, documentation, and execution of periodic (planned and unplanned) Network and Telecommunications equipment maintenance routines.
• Manage the monitoring of the network and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Assist with the periodic audits for Sarbanes Oxley and security by providing documentation, data and explanation of policies and processes for analysis by security and audit teams.
• Assist with disaster recovery testing and design.
• Assist in managing associated budget items aiding in the forecasting and explanation of significant deviations.
• Assist with annual expense and capital budget requests as they relate to the Network and Telecommunications environment.

Break-Fix

• Act as subject matter expert and escalation point in case of escalated and high severity incidents, projects, initiatives, or changes to the Local IT landscape.
• Participates in on call rotation.
• Manage, forecast (as appropriate) and analyze production requests/issues.
• Manage the resolution with business relevant solutions.
• Analyze and resolve advanced infrastructure availability and/or service degradation issues
• Provide after hours and weekend on-call support as needed

Other

• Assure adherence to Noble’s Cyber Security Framework.
• Maintain relationships with IT management and IT staff.
• Adhere to professional standards and Noble’s Administrative Policy Manual.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other IT related field.
• 7-10 years of experience as a Network/ Telecommunications Engineer with specific knowledge in the following:
• LANs, WANs, and WLANs
• Network routing and switching
• Firewalls
• Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet networking (routing and switching)
• Virtual networking (Azure, AWS & Nutanix)
• SD-WAN (Silver Peak, Cisco SD-WAN, Palo Alto Prisma)
• Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix)
• Cisco Call Manager/Unity Voice Mail
• VSAT technology
• VPN technology
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher required.
• Network Security Certification (CISSP) a plus.
• Strong foundational knowledge of overall infrastructure functionality and networking design concepts.
• ITIL Foundation and ITSM framework experience.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud-based network integration.
• Travel is an essential job function (approximately 10%, domestic, international, & offshore).
• Ability to work overtime and on-call as required
