Description of Duties:

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

 

·         Be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of complex systems and ensuring projects meet technical requirements.

·         Work with other ITSD delivery teams to align and continuously improve mission and cybersecurity goals.

·         Provide technical leadership throughout the system lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture design, integration, testing, and verification, while collaborating with other stakeholders to deliver successful system solutions.

·         Have experience with model-based system engineering methodologies and digital engineering technologies.

·         Oversee the overall system engineering process on projects, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and milestone tracking. Establish and modify processes where necessary.

·         Define, document, and manage system requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer needs. Specify verification cross reference matrix for acceptance testing.

·         Develop and review system architecture, considering interfaces, components, and trade-offs. Lead peer reviews of engineering artifacts and participate in engineering review boards.

·         Lead the integration of system components, and oversee verification and validation testing processes, initiating process modernization where necessary.

·         Make critical technical decisions related to system design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

·         Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, customers, and stakeholders to communicate system status and address concerns.

·         Create and maintain comprehensive system engineering documentation including requirements documents, design specifications, test plans, and reports. Establish digital methodologies and automation of documentation and reporting to the greatest extent possible.

Here's What You'll Need:

 

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 10 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 8 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 4 years of general experience

 

·         Must have 8 years of directly related experience.

·         Must have 4 years of documented management or leadership experience.

·         Must have an active DoD Secret clearance

·         Certification Requirements: Must have a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification with Continuing Education (CE) - (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)

 

Desired Requirements:

 

·         Strong technical expertise in relevant system domains (e.g., hardware, software, network, embedded systems). Experience in Missile Defense System development.

·         Proficiency with system engineering tools like SysML, DOORS, and requirement management software.

·         Familiarity with ticketing system (Remedy) and the demonstrated ability to use a methodology to drive cyber hygiene and reduce vulnerabilities across the MDA enterprise.

·         Effectively function as a self-starter and identify risks, issues, and opportunities.

·         Spearhead new initiatives that are best practices, customer, or efficiencies driven.

·         Be a strong innovator in process improvement and system design.

·         Have excellent presentation, oral, and written skills.

·         Have experience or familiarity with MDA and Ballistic Missile Defense.

 

This position is expected to pay $134,900 - $159,900 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
