JOB SUMMARY: 

Kemper Scholars Internship Program

Kemper Scholars internships will enable you to broaden your understanding of the business, make valuable connections, and set a course for your professional journey with us. You will work on special projects that positively impact our business and our customers. Kemper is looking for students who love to problem solve and are willing to make real-life impact on projects that may involve the senior executives to front-line associates. We deliver meaningful experiences in various internship areas like Product Development, Claims, Operations, Finance, IT, Data Analytics, and much more. Are you ready to create your own journey by joining ours? This is a 10-week paid internship offering challenging projects that support Kemper’s strategic priorities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Kemper interns will be exposed to the following concepts and experiences: 

• Understand different aspects of Cybersecurity Operations, including security engineering and cloud security
• Assist with triaging and responding to Cybersecurity threats
• Help with responding to Cybersecurity vulnerabilities
• Support the team with process documentation, data analysis, and data collection
• Collaborate with experienced team members on projects that align with strategic initiatives
• Participate in team meetings to gain insights into ongoing and evolving work within Cybersecurity Operations
• Learn how the team tackles challenges and implements effective solutions

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (MUST HAVE):

• Junior or Senior status enrolled at University of Chicago, Northwestern University, University of Wisconsin Madison, or University of Notre Dame.
• Qualifying majors in an academic area related to computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, management information systems or related to financial services or the insurance industry, such as, finance, data analytics, communications, accounting, or business administration.
• Non-business majors are welcome if strong interest in financial services and/or insurance industry.  
• A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale.
• This position is a hybrid role and may require work in the office 3-4 days a week.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

This position pays $22.00 per hour.
