Overview

BerryDunn is seeking an Information Security Consultant to join our Management and Information Technology Consulting Group (MITG). You will work with clients to assess their information security controls, provide recommendations and support the development of information security programs. You will bring a mix of technical assessment capabilities, an understanding of security concepts, and strong communication skills.

 

The position can be located physically in any of our office locations in the contiguous U.S. or virtually in the same geographical footprint, depending on your preference and experience. You will report up through our management team to MITG’s principal and practice group leader.

 

Travel Expectations: Up to 30% travel to client sites may be required at times future to support projects, but much of the work will be conducted in a virtual capacity.

You Will

  • Work collaboratively across our team to evaluate technology environments and information systems to advise our clients on improving controls, reducing information security risks and strengthening their security posture.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with and educate clients and work with our team in a collaborative environment.
  • Identify, develop, recommend and implement solutions to address client needs using your understanding of industry leading practices and information security frameworks and standards such as NIST, GLBA, HIPAA and others.
  • Strategically frame issues and solutions for clients through reports and presentations to inform on our security risk management analyses, findings, and recommendations for mitigation.
  • Assist with project tasks such as client outreach and scheduling; preparing project management artifacts such as agendas, status reports and meeting recaps; facilitating fact-finding discussions with client stakeholders and taking notes; analyzing and organizing information; conducting research; synthesizing information into thoughtful and insightful strategies; and developing deliverables such as client-facing reports and presentations.
  • Participate in the growth of the cybersecurity practice through collaborating with internal teams, developing, and enhancing sales and marketing tools.
  • Focus on continuous education and personal growth to support your role through research, staying up to date on emerging threats, and education.
  • Gain support in achieving relevant information security and/or project management certifications to help expand your knowledge, technical experience and qualifications on the team.

You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems Management, Business with an IT focus, or 1 to 3 years of cybersecurity or industry experience
  • Strong written and verbal communications, analytic problem-solving and organizational skills to support team collaboration and development of client deliverables
  • Understanding of overall security concepts, IT systems, control frameworks and risk management
  • Proficiency with all or most aspects of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio
  • An ambition for learning, a willingness to work on a wide variety of projects and tasks and an aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the implementation or assessment of information security frameworks and standards a plus, but not required
  • Relevant information or cybersecurity certifications a plus, but not required

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $65,000 - $80,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
