Security Analyst – Lyra Technology Group  

Lyra Technology Group is seeking a Security Analyst for our OpCo based out of The Triangle Area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) in North Carolina. As the company grows, this role will evolve into a Security Manager, playing a critical role in managing and securing both internal and client IT environments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership potential, and a proactive approach to cybersecurity management. This role will involve managing security tools, responding to incidents, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining security measures to ensure the safety and integrity of IT systems. 

Your work as a Security Analyst will include the following duties:   

  • Strengthen internal and client security postures by proactively addressing vulnerabilities and responding to emerging threats.
  • Lead and optimize incident response procedures, minimizing the impact of security breaches through rapid containment and resolution.
  • Conduct in-depth risk analysis to identify security gaps and develop strategic mitigation plans.
  • Stay up to date with evolving security trends and cutting-edge technologies to continuously improve security measures.
  • Maintain and enforce security policies and compliance frameworks to safeguard critical assets.
  • Provide strategic security guidance to clients and internal stakeholders to align with best practices and business objectives.
  • Implement, manage, and maintain security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, and IDS/IPS across internal and client environments.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, ensure compliance with industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor security events, investigate potential threats, and lead remediation efforts in collaboration with internal teams and clients.
  • Manage patching and vulnerability remediation, utilizing threat intelligence feeds and coordinating security updates.
  • Develop and maintain automated security scripts to improve efficiency and protection across IT environments.
  • Collaborate with project teams to configure, deploy, and optimize security solutions based on client needs.
  • Maintain detailed security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports for compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver security awareness training for clients and internal teams, fostering a culture of security.
  • Prepare and present security reports, risk assessments, and actionable insights to leadership and clients.
  • Assist clients with completing cybersecurity and insurance questionnaires related to their environments.
  • Perform necessary hardware and software upgrades to maintain security integrity. 

Our ideal Security Analyst has the following qualifications: 

  • Based in the Triangle Area (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill).
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity within an MSP, SOC, or IT service environment, with hands-on expertise in managing security operations.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with expertise in networks, systems, and cloud security.
  • Experience working with firewalls, SIEM solutions, IDS/IPS, EDR, and other security technologies.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) and regulatory/insurance requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, account managers, and technical teams.
  • Ability to balance day-to-day security operations with strategic planning and improvement initiatives. 

The targeted base compensation for this role is $75,000-$85,000 per year. All applicants must reside in the Trangle Area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) in North Carolina to be considered.
