As a Compliance and Cybersecurity Intern, you will assist the team in ensuring the organization's systems and data meet regulatory standards and security best practices. Your responsibilities will include supporting risk assessments, monitoring security protocols, assisting with compliance audits, and helping to identify vulnerabilities in systems. You'll work closely with the cybersecurity and compliance team to ensure that proper security measures are in place and help track compliance with relevant laws and industry regulations. This role provides hands-on experience in both compliance management and cybersecurity practices.
CCC has a hybrid/remote work philosophy. The selected candidate for this position will be working at least one to two days a week in our Danvers, MA headquarters from June 2, 2025 through August 15, 2025.
What you will be doing:
- Assist with Security Audits: Help review security policies and procedures to ensure they comply with regulations and industry standards.
- Support Risk Assessments: Help assess risks related to cybersecurity and compliance, providing support in documenting findings.
- Prepare Compliance Reports: Assist in gathering data and preparing reports for audits, compliance checks, and internal reviews.
- Help Implement Security Measures: Support the implementation of security policies, procedures, and controls to protect sensitive data.
- Research Regulatory Changes: Stay up-to-date on new cybersecurity laws, regulations, and industry best practices, providing insights as needed.
- Assist with Incident Response: Help track security incidents and support response efforts, including gathering information for investigation.
- May be accountable for other results and activities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- No prior professional experience required, but any relevant coursework, certifications (such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP), or personal projects in cybersecurity or compliance are a plus.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, networking protocols, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Familiarity with common security tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn about compliance frameworks, cybersecurity tools, and risk management practices in a hands-on, real-world environment.
