Description:
To support the successful implementation of the Compliance Management System at Plant Spartanburg, ensuring the identification and mitigation of compliance risks in the areas of human rights, fraud prevention, antitrust compliance, corruption prevention, data privacy protection, and information protection.To further strengthen the relationship Compliance Management has with the Legal, Human Resources and Security departments, while simultaneously elevating the Compliance culture in all the other Plant Spartanburg departments. Provide an environment of learning and training within the Compliance Management department that fosters growth and experience for the selected candidate while simultaneously assisting the company to achieve internal goals and targets.
The qualified intern/Co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
- Support regular reporting of Compliance Status
- Overseeing the implementation of the Compliance Awareness program, creating new material as needed
- Support Privacy Impact Assessments and Information Classifications
- Other duties as assigned
- Support the Annual Compliance Risk Assessment for Plant Spartanburg
- Rebooting the Information Protection Management System at Plant Spartanburg
- Benchmark Compliance homepages throughout the BMW Group and integrate best practices into Plant Spartanburg’s site
Qualifications:
- A successful intern would bring an interest in and appreciation for legal systems and regulatory/policy frameworks; the subject matter of the university degree is of secondary importance
- Possess a high level of ethical standards and integrity
- Analytical and critical thinking
- Strong reading comprehension and writing abilities
- Ability to communicate with all levels of people in the company
- Familiarity with cyber security topics and concepts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
- MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- THE WORK TERM DATES ARE August 11th - December 12th, 2025.
