YesJob Description:
Provides technical expertise for database design, development,
implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and
analysis. Develops relational and/or Object-Oriented databases,
database parser software, and database loading software. Projects
long-range requirements for database administration and design.
Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the
overall architecture of the system under development and has to make
trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical
distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain
controls. The DBE works primarily at the front end of the lifecycle requirements
through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational
Capability (IOC). Develops requirements from a project’s inception to
its conclusion for a particular business and Information Technology
(IT) subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems). Assist with
recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems
improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts.
Translates a set of requirements and data into a usable document by
creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; updates
existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master
file; and builds complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database
Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using Cloud
methodologies.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Support application systems through the careful review and understanding of customer and internal team tickets
Develop / Patch / Deploy server and operating system updates for Linux or Windows systems
Engineer data solutions or modifications to existing databases
Provide data engineering solutioning expertise to development team(s) supporting systems and applications
Develop and install data exchange / transfer solutions to ensure the secure transfer of data between systems
Apply data quality control measures
Review database security measures and ensure databases meet customer standards for data security
Leverage experience in customer industry, mission, or area to provide context and help ensure elaboration of problems occur
Ensure system performance through monitoring and logging of server performance, errors, and security incidents
Ensure all servers are patched and configured to prevent security breaches
Engages with development teams to optimize releases by ensuring test environments reflect production environment configurations
Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies by participating in industry events and conferences.
Maintain DOD mandated certifications such as Security+ and other common computing environment requirements as provided by the customer
BA/BS and 5+ years of experience
Per DoD 8140 Requirements you must possess one of the above (or higher) Certifications: Cloud+, SSCP, Security+, GSEC CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP
