cFocus Software is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer III to join our program supporting the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) in Washington, DC.  This position requires an active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years in cyber security roles is complemented by a robust educational background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related Field.
  • Active certifications such as CISSP, CySA+, or CASP+.
  • Proficiency extends to designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level security solutions, with advanced technical skills encompassing network security, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and incident response management.
  • Leadership capabilities are demonstrated through mentoring junior team members, providing strategic guidance, and fostering a proactive security culture.
  • Expertise in compliance with regulatory and DoD standards, coupled with strong communication skills for effectively conveying complex security issues to diverse stakeholders, underscores the role’s strategic impact.
  • Continuous learning and innovation drive adaptation to emerging cyber threats and technologies, ensuring the organization maintains a resilient and proactive security posture under their stewardship.
Duties:
  • Lead and orchestrating comprehensive security initiatives within an organization.
  • This includes designing and implementing advanced security solutions such as Firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and secure network architectures to fortify defenses against cyber threats.
  • Conducting thorough vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and overseeing incident response activities are critical responsibilities.
  • Moreover, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices is paramount.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members, providing strategic direction, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in cybersecurity practices are essential.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders across departments ensure alignment on security goals and initiatives, thereby safeguarding organizational assets and maintaining robust cybersecurity posture.
