As the Senior Connectivity Security Engineer, you'll be tasked with defining the network security standards – along with the latest Network Perimeter technologies – for our network setup and supervising network concepts for various digital solutions used in Swiss Re.
About the Role
The Senior Connectivity Security Engineer serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for network perimeter - related aspects of the entire IaaS product portfolio throughout various phases of IT projects, such as Public and Private Cloud integration. This role involves developing new products and services based on business requirements and establishing standards and guidelines for various products and technologies, close and dedicated collaboration with other teams and projects across the organization is essential and mandatory for success.
• In this role, you will work in close collaboration with Network Engineers, Service managers and other internal services departments, as well as with external IT Service Providers.
• You will act as a technical contact for our Network Perimeter footprint, and you will have a chance to work on cutting-edge solutions used by all Swiss Re employees worldwide.
• Optimizes the existing environment by evaluating and developing new technologies/products/concepts and leads PoCs; manages roadmaps and product portfolios.
• Provides technical assistance for issues that cannot be resolved within operations and reviews product and integration architecture.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.

• Strong network security technology knowledge and experience with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, NX-OS and Proxy Management.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN, and VPN technologies (site to site, overlay networking).
• Knowledge of Network principles such as Office LAN, and Wireless LAN area, Network access control mechanism (802.1x, MAB).
• Familiarity with governance controls and external security audit.
• Expertise in Private and Public cloud architectures is a clear plus.
• Basic automation and SNMP monitoring tooling knowledge
• Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills relating to networking implementations.
• Ability to carry out detailed network and security analyses (troubleshooting, developing optimization proposals etc).
• Passion for network architecture and engineering.
• Enjoying understanding new technologies and shaping new products for our customers
• Ability to work in a variety of customer settings and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Designing solutions, documentation and communication; ability to assess the marketplace (understand what is out there); ability to translate requirements into solutions.
