Job Title: Lead Engineer - Infrastructure

In office Location: Rochester, NY

Reports to: Manager of Infrastructure

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $114,332 - $142,916

Job Summary:

Lead all IT related cyber investigations and audit preparation team.

Analyzes data/evidence to identify potential cyber incidents and

vulnerabilities. Conducts research and process analysis as required to

assess impact to corporate information assets and adherence to regulatory compliance requirements. Makes recommendations for corrective actions. Represents IT.

Responsibilities

  • General infrastructure platform process and administration responsibilities.

  • Develops and maintains up-to-date documentation and procedures that define the operability of the IT Infrastructure platforms.

  • Develops and implements operational monitoring tools and procedures of infrastructure platforms for performance and adherence to Avangrid’s IUSA defined availability metrics.

  • Makes recommendations when necessary to meet the expected demands.

  • Reviews / recommends / directs installation and maintenance of third party software packages from a system perspective.

  • Reviews / recommends infrastructure patch levels on all system and management platforms ensuring stabling and compliance.

  • Ability to Lead technical support for the installation, configuration and maintenance of Wintel/Linux platforms for daily production requirements and project development.

  • Responsible for managing lifecycle, planning, and operations, including Physical and Virtual server infrastructure.

  • Deliver excellent levels operational stability and reliability to the company environment.

  • Define operational programs and identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency and reliability as demanded.

  • Ability to monitor severs for performance, availability, and compliance.

  • Ability to work with vendors on server software installation and support.

  • Manage relationships with outsourced vendors and coordinate the execution of the design / process plans and ensures that all aspects of the architecture are executed to plan.

  • Technical coordination and management of infrastructure outsourced services.    

  • Define and execute programs and projects to ensure the infrastructure is correctly life cycled (hardware and software), patched, and maintained.

  • Define and execute road map for future growth based on company needs, company strategy and considering technological evolution and continuous transformation in that area.

  • Engage with Applications Team in order to define requirements and needs for Applications Projects execution.

  • Resource planning and assignment to applications projects in alignment with Infrastructure projects pipeline.

  • Champion best practices in a high-volume, dynamic environment. 

  • Ensure the enterprise has the capability to support new technology and maintain high levels of service.

  • Create a sustainable IT environment to facilitate growth while maintaining required regulatory compliance and end user requirements.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of IT infrastructure experience OR Associate's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of IT infrastructure experience OR High School Diploma/GED equivalent with a minimum of 10  years of IT infrastructure experience.

  • Deep level of Infrastructure platform experience to include 1 or more of the following technology pillars: Wintel/Linux server, Networking, Wintel Servers, Network Security, SAN Storage, Network Operations.

  • Demonstrated experience in project and team leadership roles.

  • Proficiency with Compliance Security standards, policies, and procedures: Cyber Incident Response, NERC/CIP/SOX SME, Risk Assessments.

  • Mitigate risk identified in vulnerability assessments.

  • Logging and alerting of secured systems.

  • Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding customers.

  • Strong technical background and understanding Enterprise Infrastructure Environments.

  • Proven experience in web related project execution, strategic planning, risk management, and change management while engaging and influencing various stakeholders at all levels across the company.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities and meet target deadline.

  • Ability to communicate with and influence technical and non-technical customers, colleagues, and vendors.

  • Strong commitment to personnel safety and IT security.

  • Proven experience managing services technically in a server based outsourced environment.

  • Demonstrated history in Root Cause Analysis wintel/linux server infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated experience being capable to re-route the technical expertise to different technical solution.
