Your Next Challenge This position sits within the IT Security Operations team and demands a confident and skilled individual who can rapidly understand complex systems and security challenges whilst balancing business priorities with security risks. This role would suit an early career Cybersecurity Engineer, or a more experienced Cybersecurity analyst looking for their next career step into an IT Security engineering role.This role will give plenty of opportunity to expand the candidates cyber security skillset whilst contributing to the development of IT Security strategies, policies and processes as well as the design and implementation (and continuous improvement) of commonly used security tools such as:
- Threat prevention tools (email, CASB, web filters, identity protection etc.)
- SIEM/SOAR tools.
- VPNs/ zero-trust clients.
- IaaS & PaaS security tools.
- Identity management tools.
- Vulnerability management and patching tools.
Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to Moneycorp future security architecture plans.
- Platform/Product ownership and strategy for one or more specific security capabilities or security tools.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement activities of the Security Operations and InfoSec teams by identifying areas for security improvement and assist in implementation of remedial actions and new systems as appropriate.
- Provide security technical leadership for small to medium sized security initiatives.
- Work closely with IT teams to promote and advocate the importance of effective security processes and policies into IT activities.
- Provide training and mentoring to IT Security Operations security analysts.
- Mentor junior IT team members across the IT team.
Person Specification Knowledge & Experience - Essential
- Experience of working within complex IT environments with multiple deliverable dates.
- Experience of working in complex project structures with geographically distributed team members.
- IT Security Engineering, IT Security Operations, or IT Infrastructure engineering background.
- Experience of infrastructure tools or security tools including a combination of the following:
- Microsoft Intune or other Endpoint and server management and patch management tools.
- Endpoint protection tools such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Active Directory or Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) experience.
- SIEM and SOAR Tools such as Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel.
- Secure Web Gateways or Web Filter tools.
- Email Security Platforms such as Microsoft Defender for O365 or Proofpoint.
- Zero Trust Networking tools such as iBoss, Z-Scaler, CloudFlare Warp, Akamai Guardicore.
- Code Scanning tools such as Snyk.
Knowledge & Experience - Desirable
- One or more security qualifications such as ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, CompTIA Security +, CompTIA CySA+, Microsoft SC-200, SC-300, SC-400.
Education / Qualification
- IT Infrastructure engineering or cyber security, security operations experience will be considered in lieu of formal educational attainment.
