Your Next Challenge This position sits within the IT Security Operations team and demands a confident and skilled individual who can rapidly understand complex systems and security challenges whilst balancing business priorities with security risks. This role includes direct line management responsibility and would suit an experienced Cybersecurity practitioner looking to move into a first team lead or line management role within a Cybersecurity structure.This role will have day-to-day operational responsibility for operating and continuously improving the security operations function within Moneycorp as well as working closely with engineers, architects and peers across the IT department to contribute to wider continuous improvement. This role will also be expected to deputise for the Head of IT Security Operations in their absence and represent the IT department in dealings with external suppliers. The role holder will manager a team who own and operate the following tools:
- Threat prevention tools (email, endpoint/server, web filters, identity protection etc.)
- SIEM/SOAR tools.
- Identity management tools.
- Vulnerability management and patching tools.
- Password Repositories.
Key Accountabilities
- Direct line management of the security operations team.
- Platform/Product ownership and strategy for multiple security capabilities or security tools used by the IT Security Operations Team.
- Ownership and continuous improvement of procedures and processes used within the IT Security Operations team.
- Contribute to Moneycorp future security architecture plans.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement activities of the IT department.
- Liaise with InfoSec, audit, and risk management teams and identify areas for security improvement. Manage following implementation of remedial actions and new systems as appropriate.
- Provide security technical leadership for small to large sized security initiatives.
- Working closely with IT teams to promote and advocate the importance of effective security processes and policies into IT activities.
- Provide training and mentoring to IT Security Operations team members.
Person Specification Knowledge & Experience - Essential
- Experience of working within complex IT environments with multiple deliverable dates.
- Experience of working in complex project structures with geographically distributed team members.
- IT Security Engineering, IT Security Operations, GRC or IT Infrastructure engineering background.
- One or more security qualifications such as ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, CompTIA Security +, CompTIA CySA+, Microsoft SC-200, SC-300, SC-400
- Experience of infrastructure tools or security tools including a combination of the following:
- Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune or other Endpoint and server management and patch management tools.
- Microsoft Azure virtual machine hosting or virtual networking.
- Endpoint protection tools such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, McAfee or Symantec.
- Active Directory or Azure Active Directory experience.
- Microsoft Defender for Identity
- SIEM and SOAR Tools such as Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel
- Secure Web Gateways or Web Filter tools.
- Email Security Platforms such as Microsoft Defender for O365, Tessian or Proofpoint.
- Zero Trust Networking tools such as iBoss, Z-Scaler, CloudFlare Warp, Akamai Guardicore.
- Code Scanning tools such as Snyk
Knowledge & Experience - Desirable One of the below industry recognised information security qualifications or equivalent is preferred:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM.
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
Education / Qualification
- Relevant experience and knowledge will be considered in lieu of formal educational attainment.
