The IT Security Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's cybersecurity and physical security initiatives within the IT organization. This role will involve developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect the company's digital assets and ensure compliance with industry standards. The IT Security Manager will work closely with various departments to identify and mitigate security risks and will report directly to the CIO.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement comprehensive IT security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Lead and manage cybersecurity initiatives to protect the company's digital assets.
- Manage relationships with cybersecurity vendors to ensure the effective delivery of security services and solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Ensure compliance with industry security frameworks and standards, e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), with a strong preference for exposure to NERC CIP.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the IT security team, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee privileged credential management and administrative access
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
- Communicate security status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, including the CIO.
- Develop and implement IT business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure the organization's ability to respond to and recover from potential disruptions and emergencies.
- Actively demonstrate engagement and take responsibility for exemplifying Onward Energy’s vision and core values.
- Maintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity in all dealings with or on behalf of the company at all levels inside and outside the organization.
THE PROFILE TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in IT cybersecurity or other relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards, with exposure to NERC CIP strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in managing cybersecurity initiatives within an IT organization.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
- Professional certifications, e.g., Security+, CISSP
