At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cross Domain Cyber engineer you will utilize Cross Domain Solutions and guard in order to Securely move data between multiple, disparate security domains. Ensuring proper placement and configuration of these systems is paramount to the Cybersecurity posture at the organization. The contractor will provide Subject Matter Expertise on CDS and guard technology by analyzing, evaluating and documenting CDS systems. The contractor shall maintain the Accreditation and Authorization (A&A), placement, and risk assessment of CDS systems. The Contractor shall maintain currency in the state-of-the-art of CDS and guard technology, providing recommendations in response to changes in technology and DoD direction
HOW A CYBER CROSS DOMAIN ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Provide dedicated, on-site support for CDS systems
- Ensure current CDS systems operate on command networks in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Provide Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF) Subject Matter Expertise to the evaluation of current and emerging guard and CDS techniques, technologies, and vulnerabilities. Periodically publish reports documenting this information
- Provide technical advice and recommendations for meeting new CDS requirements
- Attend Defense Security Accreditation Working Group (DSAWG) and Flag Panel meeting to help advocate command requirements
- Provide situational awareness of CDS systems in the SOF (Special Operations Force) Information Environment (SIE), including location, capability, network topology and diagrams, missions supported, and other related information. Periodically publish reports documenting this information.
- Manage and track requests and requirements for CDS systems supported within the SIE, assist with creating, updating, tracking, and managing staff packages for prioritization and approval by the appropriate authorities.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelors degree in related degree or equivalent experience
● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills:
- Experience with the CDS Assessment and Authorization Process including SABI and TSABI.
- Ability to drive the DevSecOps life cycle.
- Provide control of configuration management for the CDS rule sets.
- Experience with accessing messaging services for security, performance, and obsolescence.
- Communicate with other team members as well as upper management effectively and clearly.
- Prepare cross-domain solutions briefings, information papers and status reports as required for cross-domain solutions certification process, management activities and meetings.
- Review U.S. federal policy and procedures, to include National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and DoD for use of cross-domain solutions and provide analysis of compliance with policy and procedure requirements for products.
- Provide expertise and process cross-domain solutions actions in accordance with published policy and procedures and track the status of those actions.
- Reviewing and analyzing Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) submitted by system owners, to create status reports on remediation of vulnerabilities as required.
- DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II (Must have one of the following quals: CAP, CND, Cloud, GSLC, Security+ CE)
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Develop and execute rollouts of the messaging service in a CI/CD pipeline
- Ability to quickly learn new applications and help troubleshoot problems
