Are you ready to join our dynamic team at SEB as an Experienced Privacy Officer within the Group Privacy Office? If so, you'll be part of leading our comprehensive privacy program to ensure ongoing GDPR compliance across the organization.

To ensure that we retain this trust, it is fundamental that we comply with regulatory requirements such as the GDPR.     About this role  Achieving and maintaining compliance with the GDPR requires a collective and strategic effort which rests on the shoulders of Privacy Officers within the Privacy Office. This is a highly operational role in which you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Privacy in facilitating the implementation of the SEB Group Privacy programme. A significant part of this role will be supporting the business on a daily basis by facilitating their requests for support and to ensure that their privacy related requirements are fully understood.  This will also involve a regular update to our internal compliance records and also potentially undertaking relevant assessments.    
This involves close collaboration with a variety of different stakeholders and will entail close work with legal counsels within the Privacy Office. It also means opportunities for close collaboration with a number of other key strategic areas across SEB Group, ranging from data management to cyber security.

Within this role you will be expected to:

  • Assist SEB Units in their work by carrying out the required documentation, such as records of processing activities, impact assessments in line with requirements.  
  • Documentation of this within our internal compliance system, PACT. In addition to this, play a substantial role in the development of the PACT systems functionalities.   
  • Support SEB units in their ongoing efforts to comply with relevant instructions, policies and processes related to privacy.   
  • Administer the processes for receiving, documenting, and investigating SEB Units handling of personal data in line with internal and external privacy policies and practices and requirements.   
  • Provide practical support and assistance on privacy matters throughout SEB group.   
  • Monitor and respond to internal requests for advice from internal clients in SEB Units and offices related to privacy.  
  • Draft and update existing operational guidance, processes, and procedures for privacy compliance within SEB Group   
  • Prepare and report on key operational and substantive privacy compliance metrics across SEB units.  
  • Identify potential Privacy risks and identify effective potential mitigants  
  • Work closely with legal counsels within the Privacy Office   

To thrive in this role, we believe you have:

  • A BSc or MSc in law and/or other relevant fields  
  • Over 5 years’ experience of working with Data Privacy, and in depth knowledge of privacy related requirements based on the GDPR and the practical application of these in the settings of a financial institution.   
  • Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset.   
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, influencing skills, along with fluency in English.  
  • Experience in maintaining a record of processing agreements (RoPA) for an institution  
  • Experience in liaising with the business to update the RoPA in line with a constantly evolving business environment  
  • Experience in drafting privacy related documentation, e.g. privacy related assessments  
  • Experience in identifying potential Privacy related risks and effective mitigants  
  • Knowledge and awareness of the intersection between Privacy management and key enablers such as Data Management, Risk Management etc.    
  • A customer-oriented mindset, and the ability to effectively manage expectations  
  • High personal integrity and ethical compass.  
  • Curious, open to change, humble and “prestigeless”. A true team player in their ability to help out and support other team members.   
  • A proactive and agile mindset.   
  • Experience in using M365 applications.
