Why you will love this opportunity as Security Engineer at Civica
The Security Engineer will be responsible for multiple security operations within the APAC region. This role ensures the protection of the organisation’s digital and physical assets across multiple countries, including India, Australia, and Singapore.
You’ll play a crucial role in responding to security incidents, conducting investigations, and implementing resolutions to protect our systems and data. You’ll work with cutting-edge security technologies, including SIEM, DLP, XDR, and antivirus solutions, while managing email and web security gateways. Your expertise will be key in identifying and remediating threats from intelligence feeds, SOC alerts, and vulnerability scans, ensuring proactive security measures are in place. Additionally, you’ll assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and standards to strengthen Civica’s security posture.
This role offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where you'll work closely with IT and business teams, contributing to critical security initiatives across Civica. You’ll have the opportunity to coach and mentor colleagues, helping to spread security expertise while also gaining exposure to high-level security operations. With responsibilities that include security reporting, change control, and occasional out-of-hours support for major incidents, this position is ideal for someone passionate about cybersecurity and eager to make a meaningful impact in a forward-thinking organisation.
Requirements
What you will do to be successful in this role
- Leverage your experience in a security-focused IT role at an enterprise level to safeguard systems and data
- Apply strong problem-solving skills to analyse and respond to security threats under pressure
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Investigate security incidents using SIEM tools and security logging services
- Utilise Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, playbooks, and automation to strengthen security operations
- Manage vulnerability management tools and lead remediation efforts to mitigate risks
- Secure cloud environments, particularly within Azure and/or AWS, following industry best practices
- Implement and uphold security principles and operations to enhance enterprise security
- Configure and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, and email/web filtering services to protect systems
- Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in navigating change and ambiguity within a dynamic environment
