Fortinet is looking for Network QA Engineer to join the EMEA Customer Readiness Testing team in Sophia Antipolis Technical Assistance Centre, France. This is a technical role, delivering post-sales testing service to key customers.
The Customer Readiness Testing team performs tests designed to specifically replicate the customer environment in which the Fortinet products are used with the end goal to improve confidence in our released software builds.
The position requires candidates with strong experience in network security (preferably in technical support or QA role) and the ability to set up testing environments, to define and execute test cases, and to detail the test results in service reports delivered to customers.
The position entails an excellent ability to clearly write all detailed information and to understand and interpret written information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementation of customer projects - Testing of Fortinet products deployed in production environments - following the CRT processes
- Thorough understanding of the testing requirements and customer information detailed in the project proposal
- Writing project related documents (Topologies, Test Plan, Methods of Procedures) with any required technical architecture diagrams
- Provisioning of the System Under Test to reproduce the customer environment on CRT Data Center equipment
- Configuring the traffic generators (FortiTester / Spirent / Ixia) to simulate traffic alike the traffic monitored in customer production environment
- Define and execute some test cases based on the testable requirements
- Technical investigation of problems involving Fortinet products
- Follow-up with R&D departments to resolve product issues
- Documenting all test results in a test report to deliver and present to customer at the end of CRT campaign
- Traffic Generators (FortiTester / Spirent / Ixia) Manager role
- Create and maintain TG management VM templates
- Define and maintain CRT application flows catalog
- Manage TG resources by assigning TG to customer projects, ensuring optimal resource utilization according to project specificities in terms of traffic load and features
- Participate in project post-mortem to gather TG usage experience and update TG database
- Responsible for upgrading and maintaining TG hardware/software following ITIL best practices
- Vendor relationship with feature requests and product enhancement
- Follow up actuality and propose new solutions emerging in the application simulation world
- Provide support to customer projects by handling JIRA TG incidents/issues until resolution
- Provision or assist in hardware provisioning in CRT datacenter
- Interface with vendor support and follow up external tickets and escalations
- Participating in SDN development
- Creation of technical documentation and bulletins to improve Fortinet CSS and CRT knowledge bases
- Develop core competency on Fortinet’s product line and technologies
- Work closely with Support organizations
Skills and Attributes Requirements:
• Proficient spoken and written English
• Thorough understanding of data networking protocols, specifically TCP/IP, routing and switching is required
• Very good presentation and technical documentation skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to problem solving
• Knowledge of application and security testing tools for physical network infrastructure (Spirent and/or Ixia network and security traffic generators)
• Experience with security products firewalls, IPsec, IDS/IPS, Anti-Spam, AV
• Good understanding of Web application concepts, security and vulnerabilities
• Work experience with Fortinet products is an advantage
• Positive, communicative and customer-oriented attitude
• Ability to work in a multicultural team environment
• General knowledge of software testing is a plus
• Scripting knowledge an advantage
• Experience and ability to work following ITIL framework
• Experience and ability to implement network changes following ITIL Change Management process
• Experience and ability in participating in projects managed using Kanban workflow management and Scrum Agile framework
Educational and Experience Requirements:
• Five years or more experience in network security (technical support or QA)
• Graduate of network and security engineering school
• Advanced knowledge of English (written and spoken), other languages are an advantage
