The Junior Security Analyst, IT will implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of the company IT infrastructure and sensitive information. The Junior Security Analyst, IT will be responsible for early and accurate detection, response, and containment of threats directed against the company IT environment. This role will collaborate with IT team members, developers, vendors, and business units to constantly identify potential improvements to the overall security posture of the company.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Identify and analyze information security threats and respond effectively to basic security incidents, escalating as necessary.
- Coordinate investigation and prepare reporting of security incidents.
- Monitor regular dashboard metrics, security feeds, phishing campaigns, system reports, and other reports.
- Monitor network, server, endpoint, database alerting for indicators of compromise and continuously tune rules to reduce false positives.
- Proactively identify and or hunt for existing and new threats within the network and endpoints.
- Scan, assess, and provide feedback on internal company assets and 3rd party platform vulnerability.
- Provide thorough, ongoing documentation of all aspects of the Los Angeles Dodgers Information Security framework.
- Assist Information Technology leadership with creating/updating Information Security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
- Assist with security policy education, training, and awareness activities.
- Generating reports for IT administrators and business managers to evaluate the efficacy of the security policies in place
- Research and help identify best practices and compliance requirements.
- Research the latest in information technology security trends to keep up to date with the subject and use the latest technology to protect information.
- Assist in identification, evaluation and conduct proof-of-concepts for new technologies and collaborate with other IT team members on implementation.
Basic Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in combination with associates or bachelor’s degree in information technology field; or minimum 1-2 years of experience working in cybersecurity operations role.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, infrastructures, protocols and applications development.
- Experience in vulnerability scanning tools, firewalls, IDS and IPS.
- Possesses strong work ethic and commitment to high standards
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Possess the verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization
- Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
- Must be available to work any shift, weekends, and holidays. Must be available for on-call support
