IAM Engineer (Remote in DC/MD/VA)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer with expertise in Okta to join our IT Security team. The IAM Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing identity and access management solutions to ensure secure access to enterprise systems, applications, and data. This role will play a key part in maintaining the security posture of the organization by optimizing authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle management processes. This is a 6 month contract through September, this position is fully remote but requires candidates to live in DC/MD/VA.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain IAM solutions using Okta, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Lifecycle Management (LCM).
• Develop and manage identity federation and access policies to support enterprise security requirements.
• Integrate Okta with various cloud-based and on-premise applications for seamless identity and access management.
• Support user provisioning, deprovisioning, and role-based access control (RBAC) in alignment with security policies.
• Configure and troubleshoot Okta Workflows, API integrations, and automation scripts for identity governance.
• Monitor IAM systems for security incidents, unauthorized access, and compliance violations.
• Perform regular audits of user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA).
• Collaborate with IT, security, and business teams to enhance IAM capabilities and align them with organizational goals.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for IAM-related issues.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging IAM technologies, trends, and best practices to continuously improve security measures.
