The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.

 

This Software Developer Internship is with the Surety Programs Group (SPG) which supports government and private sector organizations ensuring the security, safety, and reliability of high consequence operations. SPG’s philosophy is to help our clients understand and mitigate mission risks spanning physical, cyber, and human domains. The Software Developer will work as part of a cross-functional team and support development of software tools and Web Applications that deliver impactful and reliable training solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex problems and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role is based at SPA HQ in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

The Intern will support development of software applications that align with the functionality, visualization, and interface requirements established by project leads. They will collaborate with the development team to define, design, and implement new features as well as find and fix bugs in a timely manner. The Intern will ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in a related field, such as Computer Science or Engineering.

  • Experience with the .NET ecosystem: C#, Entity Framework Core, and application development with WPF.

  • Experience with the Unity Game Engine.

  • Experience with Web development on static sites: HTML, CSS, Javascript.

  • US Citizenship required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Clearance.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience with node.js tools: Webpack, Babel, and LESS.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Knowledge of common automation testing platforms and procedures.

  • Proactive interest in learning new skills and engaging new challenges.
