The IT Manager at Zapotal is responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and advancement of technology systems that enhance the experience for members, staff, and operations. This role ensures seamless connectivity, security, and integration of IT infrastructure, including surveillance systems, high-speed internet, and automation tools. The IT Manager will also be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, providing technical support, and ensuring all IT solutions align with Discovery Land Company’s brand standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, proactive problem-solving, and working closely with various departments, including Development, Security, Sales, Accounting, and Human Resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

• Maintain the daily operations of networks, server infrastructure, and cloud-based systems.
• Oversee the implementation of network security protocols and compliance with applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
• Assess and purchase new and replacement hardware and software solutions.
• Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Ensure seamless connectivity across all club facilities, member residences, and administrative offices.
• Support POS systems, telecommunication systems, and subnetworks to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Provide technical support to employees and members for computers, applications, server systems, and other related technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
• Provides hardware/software support to both local and remote users and is available to troubleshoot via phone as needed.
• Assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of IT systems and devices.
• Train employees on the use of IT systems, security protocols, and best practices.
• Manage internal communication regarding IT projects, updates, and support status.
• Coordinate IT installations and enhancements to support Development, Construction, Security, Sales, Accounting, Human Resources, and Operations.
• Partner with Discovery Land IT to integrate corporate IT policies and infrastructure.
• Ensure hardware and software compatibility across different departments and locations.
• Work with vendors and contractors to optimize IT solutions for operational efficiency.
• Responsible for ordering, configuring, and tracking all IT-related hardware and software.
• Oversee procurement, budgeting, and vendor relations for IT systems.
• Maintain IT asset inventory, including mobile devices, computers, printers, and network equipment.
• Implement and manage cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data.
• Monitor IT security policies, protocols, and compliance standards.
• Conduct regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas of improvement.
• Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure data protection regulations are met.
• Drive innovation in IT systems to enhance efficiency and user experience.
• Manage IT projects, upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Develop long-term IT strategies, goals, and roadmaps for the club’s technology infrastructure.
• Continuously research and recommend emerging technologies that align with business objectives.
• Ensure that residences and homes within the Club have proper installations for internet and IT services offered by the Club.
• Ensure that all sensitive Club information remains protected by implementing security protocols and educating users on how to properly handle IT data and information.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES, and/ or SKILLS

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management or related roles.
• Strong experience in network management, cybersecurity, and IT support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and IT management tools.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, Procore, Titanium, Intacct, and other business applications is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues and provide effective solutions.
• Experience working in luxury hospitality, private clubs, or high-end residential environments is a plus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
• Certifications in networking, cybersecurity, or project management (such as CCNA, CISSP, ITIL, PMP) are an advantage.
• Able to communicate fluently in English and Spanish.

HEALTH AND SAFETY NEEDS

• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments as needed.
• Must be able to lift and carry IT equipment such as servers, monitors, and networking devices.
• Frequent standing, bending, and kneeling to install and troubleshoot IT infrastructure.
• Prolonged screen time due to extensive computer use.
• May be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
• Ability to transition between environments, including working in an air-conditioned office and taking long walks outdoors under the sun for extended periods while troubleshooting and fixing IT cables.
