R&D Verification Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Verification Engineer to ensure the functionality, performance, safety, and security of our complex medical devices, with a strong focus on digital systems and IoT integration. You will play a crucial role in the entire verification and validation lifecycle, from system decomposition and test planning to execution, analysis, and regulatory submissions.

• Plan and execute comprehensive verification and validation (V&V) activities, including functional, performance, integration, reliability, and security testing for IoT-enabled medical devices

• Verify system & IoT integration, design test strategies for connectivity and data integrity, and troubleshoot integration issues

• Develop test plans, conduct System Acceptance Testing (SAT), and verify system interoperability and user stories for digital systems and IoT-enabled medical devices

• Analyze test data, generate bug reports, troubleshoot and resolve IoT integration issues, including network protocols, data security, and communication latency and document verification processes for regulatory submissions

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, medical device regulations, and implement cybersecurity measures, including risk assessments

• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, aligning verification activities with development cycles, and contribute to design reviews and continuous process improvements

• Apply technical expertise in software, systems, and enterprise architecture to address complex challenges and ensure secure coding practices

What you bring along

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Software, Computer Science, Biomedical, Electrical, or related field)

• Proven experience in verification and validation of digital systems, IoT integration, network protocols (TCP/IP, MQTT, CoAP), embedded systems, and real-time operating systems (RTOS)

• Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, C++, scripting languages) and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Strong understanding of medical device regulations (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA), including FDA 510(k) and MDR, and experience with FMEA risk mitigation

• Experience in cybersecurity testing and vulnerability assessment, familiarity with tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit), and certifications like CISSP or CEH (preferred)

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail, ability to work in teams, and manage multiple projects effectively

• Fluent in English, with German language skills as a plus
