Senior Cyber Security Engineer – Cyber Security Engineering Team

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to contribute to the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the Bank’s Cyber Security solutions, with the goal of enhancing security controls.

In this role you will design, implement, and optimise end-to-end Cyber Security solutions in a hybrid environment. You will work with key internal stakeholders to uplift the security configurations of endpoints, servers, network appliances and security technology stack. You will work closely with the broader IT Security and IT Infrastructure functions as a member of the Cyber Security Engineering team.

Working in a growing team you’ll be responsible for the following:

  • Provide guidance, oversight and lifecycle management of security solutions and tooling utilised by IT Security teams and the wider Bank

  • Lead efforts to enhance security across the Bank’s hybrid infrastructure

  • Provide expert guidance, propose, and implement solutions for IT projects aligned with security best practices and the requirements of the IT Security function

  • Focus on automation opportunities and integration of cyber security tools and platforms

  • Continuously evaluate IT security systems and platforms for suitability, and facilitate the implementation of recommended changes

  • Manage and optimise the Banks end-to-end security logging infrastructure, including maintaining and enforcing logging standards

  • Assist IT Security teams with incident response activities, including recommending and delivering corrective actions

About You

  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Sentinel, and the Microsoft Defender suite

  • Deep understanding of cloud security technologies and practices (Azure knowledge is highly desirable)

  • Ability to configure and maintain Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies (Akamai and Azure WAF)

  • Operational knowledge of web proxy and VPN technologies (Zscaler)

  • Extensive knowledge of securing operating systems including various Linux distributions and Windows versions

  • Expert knowledge of Information Security principles and practices across infrastructure in a hybrid environment (Azure and VMware)

  • Ability to present technical evidence clearly and in a manner for nontechnical readership

  • Outstanding written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
