Pure Storage’s Research and Development (R&D) Center in Prague has 650+ employees focused on cutting-edge innovation. The team plays a vital role in driving solutions for the as-a-service economy, tackling challenges like the surge in unstructured data and growing security threats like ransomware.

SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

As a Senior Security Architect, you’ll be a core part of our Global Information Security Office (GISO), working alongside talented engineers and architects to design and influence security solutions across networking, cloud, and infrastructure. This role is perfect for someone with a security engineering background who wants to take the next step into security architecture, shaping how security is built into our systems from the ground up. This is a hands-on, collaborative role—not one where you just review diagrams and write policies. You’ll be working directly with engineering teams, helping design secure solutions, automate security processes, and improve security visibility through data-driven decisions.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Can collaborate and communicate effectively with engineering and architecture teams, helping them make smart security decisions.
• Enjoys digging into security data (Splunk, logs, telemetry) to identify risks and improve detection.
• Has solid networking security knowledge, both on-prem and in cloud environments.
• Can write Python scripts to automate security tasks and improve efficiency.
• Understands Linux security fundamentals and knows how to harden and monitor systems.
• Can design security solutions and see them through implementation, working alongside cross-functional teams.

You will play a key role in designing security solutions and influencing security decisions across multiple domains, including network security (on-prem and cloud), Splunk data analytics, Linux security, and automation with Python. Your security engineering background will be essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security posture, ensure best practices, and drive security initiatives forward.

This role is ideal for someone with 4-6+ years of experience in security engineering or architecture who is looking to expand their influence in designing and implementing security solutions at scale.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING...

• Designing security solutions for cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring alignment with security best practices and industry standards.
• Collaborating with engineering, IT, and operations teams to integrate security into infrastructure, applications, and services.
• Influencing security architecture and controls across networking, cloud environments, and security operations.
• Leveraging Splunk (or similar SIEM tools) for data analysis, anomaly detection, and improving security visibility.
• Automating security processes using Python and scripting to enhance monitoring, threat detection, and compliance.
• Hardening Linux environments, ensuring secure configurations, monitoring, and system integrity.
• Conducting security assessments and threat modeling, identifying risks and recommending mitigations.
• Providing security guidance on identity and access management (IAM), network segmentation, and workload protection in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Supporting incident response teams by helping design detection and response strategies for security threats.
• Helping define and implement security standards and frameworks such as NIST, CIS Benchmarks, and CSA best practices.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM...

• 4-6+ years of experience in security engineering or security architecture, with a strong ability to design security solutions and influence best practices.
• Experience securing networks in on-prem and cloud environments, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and cloud-native security controls (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Hands-on experience with Splunk (or similar SIEM tools) for log analysis, anomaly detection, and operational security.
• Proficiency in Python for security automation (e.g., log parsing, alerting, security tooling integration).
• Linux security expertise, including system hardening, monitoring, and secure configuration management.
• Strong foundation in cloud security principles (IAM, networking, encryption, compliance) with experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of security frameworks and best practices (NIST CSF, CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, etc.).
• Ability to work cross-functionally, influencing security decisions across multiple teams and technical disciplines.

BONUS POINTS FOR...

• Security certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, GCP Security Engineer, CISSP, or CCSP.
• Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security automation in CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR, or PCI-DSS.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague, Czech Republic office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
