Job Description

Cyber Security is a key topic in the Europ Assistance security ecosystem, and the Group is fully supportive to tackle the challenges of the coming years. To that extent, the current CSO team is looking to reinforce the team with a Cyber Security Expert who will manage the Incident Response process, the Security Incident Monitoring and Reporting at Europ Assistance Group level.

A Cyber Security Expert plays a critical role in safeguarding Europ Assistance organization's digital assets and ensuring that it remains resilient against a constantly evolving threat landscape. He/She needs to have a strong understanding of Cyber Security principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to achieve security goals. Additionally, must adapt to new threats and technologies, making continuous learning and professional development essential for success in this role.

Primary duties and responsibilities

Part of the CSO team, you will contribute to the development of the cyber security practice of Europ Assistance, focusing on the following main cyber security aspects:

  • Develop and maintain security incident management policy and procedure for Europ Assistance, ensuring tight integration between SOC, CSIRT and Europ Assistance security team
  • Define incident response playbooks to be implemented within Europ Assistance as part of the response capabilities of the organization to reach in case of cyber threats
  • Establish an early warning process for Europ Assistance to make sure that possible exposures are detected tracked and mitigated in fastest way possible.
  • Oversee and steer the SIEM integration for the main Europ Assistance log sources to ensure all relevant log data are available and actionable in case of security incident and investigations. Develop ad-hoc detection use cases in cooperation with SIEM team to cover Europ Assistance needs. Be part of the incident response team, leading security incidents by providing clear guidance to CSIRT team and being able to directly act on cyber security solutions to contributed during analysis, containment and eradication phases.
  • Security Incident Monitoring: Ensure continuous monitoring of the organization's networks and systems to detect signs of unusual or suspicious activities that could indicate a security breach
  • Security Reporting: Provide regular reports to executive management on the state of the organization's cybersecurity, including key performance indicators and incident reports.
  • Coordinate the different teams involved in the security incident monitoring and response and keep a close relationship with the different security experts within Europ Assistance.
  • The role may require providing 24/7 event management on-call support

Main interactions

The Cyber Security Expert reports to the Europ Assistance group head of security operations.

  • She/He will interact with:
    • Other members of the Group security team including the Groups CSO
    • Regional and local Chief Information Officers, Chief Operation Officers and Chief Executive Officers
    • Europ Assistance CSIRT team
    • Generali SOC team
    • Other Security providers involved in the security activities
    • The IT department

Preferred Experience

Ideally, 5+ years’ experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.

  • Good knowledge on Splunk & Microsoft security solutions
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in incident response and security management.
    • At least 5-7 years of experience in information security.
    • Familiarity with various security incident management frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SANS).
    • Experience within security operation center (SOC) organization
  • Incident Response Skills:
    • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing incident response teams.
    • Thorough understanding of the incident response lifecycle.
    • Proficiency in documenting incidents, developing incident response plans, and post-incident reporting.
  • Leadership and Communication:
    • Strong leadership and project management skills.
    • Effective English communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders during incidents.
    • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical personnel.
    • Experience in facilitating post-incident reviews and implementing lessons learned.
  • Experience in managing relationships with third-party security service providers and vendors.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units.
  • Familiarity with relevant data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry standards.
