Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a Database Administrator (Intermediate to Senior Levels) to join our team at Detroit Arsenal, MI. 

• Must be a US Citizen 
• DoD Secret Clearance required
• Non-remote (relocation incentive available)

The Database Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance are met in the delivery of IT services and infrastructure support at the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) Detroit Arsenal, MI. This role involves managing and maintaining databases to ensure their reliability, performance, compliance, and security. Additionally, the Administrator will help protect national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement and growth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create, update, and maintain databases required for mission-related functions. 
• Install, administer, support, and maintain server hardware, peripherals, software, and operating systems. 
• Maintain server environment stability through review of monitoring tools and application of patches after testing. 
• Create, update, and maintain SOPs and knowledge management solutions for continuity and training 
• Ensure proper configuration of servers, virtual servers, storage solutions, computers, and software necessary for the successful operation in baseline compliance requirements. 
• Support Active Directory Management; Systems Center Management; Messaging Management; Clustering Services; Backup and Restoration. 
• Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans. 
• Manage data backups of servers and equipment configurations per recovery guidelines. 
• Implement patch remediation on systems to ensure network security and compliance with Cybersecurity guidelines and regulations. 
• Support migration efforts to cloud-based environments including integration of new technologies, decommissioning of existing hardware, and documentation.

Qualifications

• US Citizen 
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance (will sponsor the right candidate). 
• IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
• Ability to analyze and determine information needs and elements, data relationships, and attributes, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.   
• Extensive proficiency with Microsoft Office products.   
• Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.   
• Knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, backup, and recovery methods.   

Intermediate Level Qualifications: 

• All the above qualifications.
• Must have at least four (4+) years of IT experience, preferably within a System Administration/Database environment. 
• Baseline Certification is required within 6 months of hire. 

Senior Level Qualifications: 

• All the above qualifications.
• Must have at least eight (8+) years of IT experience, preferably within a System Administration/Database environment. 
• Baseline Certification is required within 6 months of hire. 

Preferred:

• Active Clearance.
• IAT Level III Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, etc.).
• BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• ITIL Foundations
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate 
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Familiar with network vulnerability scanners (e.g. Retina, ACAS, Nessus). 
• Migration of systems and services to a cloud environment. 
• Knowledge of Windows servers, including Windows PowerShell, Active Directory, and GPO. 
• Working knowledge of virtualized environments (VMWare, Linux, etc.)
• Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
• Problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. 

Additional Information

This position is contingent upon the successful acquisition of the government contract and the completion of ongoing negotiations. We anticipate these processes will be completed within the next several weeks, at which time interviews and offers will be extended upon successful contract award.
