Evolver is seeking a Network Security Engineer to support Information Assurance (IA), Cyber Security, and Computer Network Defense functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for security management, policy enforcement, certification and accreditation (C&A) processes, and ensuring compliance with federal laws, DoD, DON, and ONRG regulations.


This position requires on-site work at Arlington, VA with a hybrid schedule of three days on-site and two remote.


The Network Security Engineer will work closely with security teams, system administrators, and leadership to monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring robust network defense strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies and procedures to align with DoD and federal compliance requirements.
  • Submit and manage Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages for system approvals.
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, providing risk assessments and security analysis.
  • Provide security awareness training and network security situational reports to leadership.
  • Manage the SAAR-N (System Authorization Access Request - Navy) process, ensuring timely approval and documentation.
  • Conduct eMASS security control assessments and POAM documentation to support system authorizations.
  • Run CMRS reports, analyze vulnerability data from ACAS, NESSUS, and VRAM, and ensure compliance with remediation efforts.
  • Support AWS security by leveraging tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Amazon Inspector, and GuardDuty.
  • Oversee STIG reviews (Security Technical Implementation Guides) and ensure compliance with risk acceptance processes.
  • Maintain IAVA/IAVB compliance, regularly updating systems and mitigating security risks.
  • Investigate and resolve IA violations, managing security breaches and vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in risk management and security documentation, ensuring compliance with federal and DoD security standards.
  • Provide technical expertise on vulnerability scanning, risk assessments, and security infrastructure enhancements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or 10 years of work experience
  • 5 years of experience in Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or Network Security Engineering.
  • Current Secret or Interim Secret Clearance is required.
  • 2 years of experience in security assessments, risk analysis, and penetration testing methodologies.
  • 2 years of experience managing security documentation, SAAR-N processing, and security audit requirements.
  • Security+ Certification
  • IAT LEVEL II Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Security Specialty.
  • Experience working with DISA and DoD security compliance frameworks.
  • Prior experience in federal or DoD environments, supporting security operations and compliance efforts.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Knowledge of automated security compliance tools and continuous monitoring solutions.
