About the Role
As Security Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure architecture solutions that protect Anglicare’s digital assets and align with the Controls Assurance Program. You will ensure that security controls are effectively embedded into cloud, network, identity, and application architectures, safeguarding critical systems against cyber threats.
In this 12-month contract, you will work closely with IT architecture teams, cyber security leaders, and business stakeholders to assess current security designs, identify control gaps, and develop future-proof security frameworks. This role requires a deep understanding of secure network architecture, identity governance, data loss protection (DLP), and DevOps security.
Key Responsibilities
Cyber Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify, assess, and prioritise cyber security, operational, and compliance risks, implementing proactive mitigation strategies.
Governance & Compliance Oversight: Ensure alignment with industry frameworks (SCF, NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements.
Security Architecture & Risk Management: Design and implement secure architectural frameworks aligned with SCF, NIST, and ISO 27001.
Controls Assurance & Compliance: Assess existing security controls, identify gaps, and design risk-reducing solutions for IT infrastructure, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Identity, Governance, & Access Management: Architect secure identity solutions, including privileged access management (PAM), role-based access control (RBAC), and third-party access controls.
Data Loss Protection (DLP): Design secure data protection frameworks to prevent unauthorized access and ensure compliance with Anglicare’s risk policies.
Network Security & Segmentation: Ensure secure network designs, including VLAN segmentation, micro-segmentation, and SASE/SSE solutions to minimize lateral movement risks.
Cloud Security & DevOps: Establish secure cloud management controls, oversee DevOps security practices, and support the secure deployment of applications.
Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design resilient backup and disaster recovery architectures to ensure data protection and system availability.
Technical Debt Management: Perform monthly Technical Debt Reviews to assess end-of-life technologies and ensure timely security updates.
About You
You are a strategic and technically skilled security architect with experience in designing secure IT infrastructures, risk frameworks, and cloud-based environments. Your expertise in secure access management, network security, and compliance-driven architecture will be key to success in this role.
Security Architecture Expertise: Strong background in designing secure IT environments, including cloud, identity, data protection, and network security.
Risk & Governance Knowledge: Experience working with SCF, NIST, ISO 27001, and regulatory frameworks (APRA, OAIC).
Technical Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse complex security challenges, identify risks, and develop effective solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with IT teams, executives, and security specialists.
Continuous Learning & Adaptability: Passion for staying ahead of emerging security threats, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualification in IT, Cyber Security, or Risk Management.
Certifications such as Azure, Security+, CISSP, CRISC, or ISO 27001 are highly desirable.
Experience in security architecture, with expertise in IGA, network security, DLP, risk management, or DevOps architecture design.
Experience in secure identity management, cloud security, and network segmentation.
Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
