Job Description:
The Position:
This position will report directly to the Manager, Finance & Internal Controls (Bacchus Portfolio), and work as part of the broader Finance team. They will be a key part of portfolio reporting, internal control, compliance, and evaluation process.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting, internal controls & general business concepts, with superior analytical skills, a strong work ethic, and great interpersonal skills.
What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
- Support the team monthly/quarterly reporting deliverables by being involved with coordinating, compiling and reviewing tasks assigned.
- Assist with the completion and/or review of acquisition-related deliverables [e.g. acquisition rev rec checklist, IFRS 16 calculation, risk and controls matrix (RCM), etc.]
- Help facilitate integration of new acquisitions to ensure compliance with CSI policies and reporting requirements
- Review of updates to existing RCMs based on updated risks / as business units evolve and/or change
- Plan the development of engagement scope, objectives and business review program in conjunction with sub portfolio Finance Leaders; develop risk assessments and determine internal audit procedures to be used
- Testing of key financial controls, and assisting with other program initiatives
- Lead process walkthroughs with stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of business objectives and operations, identify potential risks and control recommendations, and ensure alignment with engagement objectives and best practices
- Assess operational processes by conducting detailed testing of processes, controls, and transactions to evaluate effectiveness, efficiency, and/or compliance
- Summarize and draft engagement finding and recommendations, ensuring clarity and accuracy within engagement reports.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve any concerns with management as they arise on the engagement.
- Conduct post-engagement follow up to ensure remediation of engagement findings.
- Perform special reviews at the request of management and participate in department initiatives. Share knowledge and best practices across the Rick Bacchus Portfolio.
- Ad-hoc tasks as needed (e.g. help facilitate external and internal audit)
Note: This position requires the ability to travel (up to 40% of the time)
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, equivalent degree
- Minimum 3 years experience in an Accounting or Auditing position or related field; experience in public accounting is considered an asset
- Business Process Risk Assessment exposure
- Good organizational and analytical skills and ability to prioritize multiple activities and requirements
- PC Skills (experience in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and flow charting)
- Able to obtain, analyze and appraise data
- Software Industry Experience is considered an asset
- You have applied knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and audit practices and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accreditation, e.g. CIA, CPA, CFE, CISA, CISSP
