Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. Network Security Engineer  to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure, the Sr. Network Security Engineer will be responsible for the smooth implementation and operations of its cloud infrastructure and network systems, as well as for supporting the day-to-day IT operations of the business within requirements, specifications, budgets, and timelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Information Security Analyst to implement and maintain our company’s new IT network architecture and other supporting systems.
  • Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls (specifically Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper and FortiGate), and VPNs.
  • Configure and maintain FortiGate and Juniper firewalls, including VPN tunnels, security policies, and threat management.
  • Set up and manage Wi-Fi connections, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Configure and manage network ports, ensuring proper VLAN and security settings.
  • Work with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) solutions to ensure secure access and data protection in conjunction with Juniper and Fortinet technologies.
  • Manage networking projects, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration
  • Collaborating with the Cyber Security Team to ensure compliance with NIST regulations and best practices.
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations, or new systems and provide visibility to senior leadership in developing strategic priorities.
  • Implement, enhance, and monitor security measures to protect the company’s network and have detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practice processes within a NIST 800-171 compliant environment.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, MIS, or similar field.
  • 8+ years of network security experience.
  • Experience designing, operating, setting up, and monitoring the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) and performing upgrades and enhancements as directed by IT leadership.
  • Excellent knowledge of information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
  • Expertise in configuring and managing Juniper and Fortinet networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining VPNs and security policies on Juniper and Fortinet devices.
  • Strong understanding of VLANs, network segmentation, and network port configurations.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture solutions integrated with Juniper and Fortinet.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to networking equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices specific to Juniper and Fortinet network infrastructure.
  • Expertise in data center and network management within a NIST 800-171 compliant environment, as well as Cisco, FortiGate, and Juniper.
  • NIST 171 compliant wireless design and protocols.
  • Experience in deploying and supporting HA/DR strategies.
  • Experience in Azure Gov architecture.
  • Experience in Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to self-govern with minimum supervision, establish workload priorities, and utilize efficient time management practices to achieve assigned tasks. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including working effectively in a diverse team environment. 
  • US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance is a requirement.

ADDITIONAL DIFFERENTIATORS: 

  • U.S. government-issued security clearance at the Secret or Top Secret/SCI levels
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics clearly and compellingly. 
  • Desire to learn new skills as required and develop expertise in areas that may be unfamiliar.
  • Additional certifications in network security (e.g., CISSP) are a plus.
  • Willing to travel 10-20%.
  • Passion for space.

Salary Range $115,000-$150,000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
