The Role
The Network Engineer will provide expertise in routing, switching, and firewall technologies to support the client’s network infrastructure. The engagement will focus on maintaining, optimizing, and securing the network operations across multiple locations in the hospitality/food and beverage industry.

Required Skills and Professional Experience:

Firewall Administration:

• Manage and maintain Checkpoint firewalls, ensuring optimal security and performance.
• Implement firewall policies, VPN configurations, and threat prevention strategies.

Network Operations and Support:

• Conduct root cause analysis for network incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Escalation point for network related major incidents
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and system backups.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, configurations, and technical documentation.
• Provide regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and project status.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and third-party vendors.
• Provide technical guidance and training to internal staff as needed.

Industry Compliance and Best Practices:

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for network security and data protection.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in networking technologies.

Deliverables:

• Optimized and maintained Checkpoint firewall policies.
• Detailed network documentation, including diagrams and configuration records.
• Reports on network performance, incidents, and resolution metrics

Preferred Skills and Professional Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent work experience and/or military experience
• 3-5 years' experience and proficiency in Cisco, Aruba and Meraki networking technologies, including routers and switches
• Familiarity with Checkpoint firewall technologies, including policy management
• and VPN configurations.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, QoS).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
