The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Network Security Engineer that will support automating cybersecurity operations, emulating adversary behavior, and improving the defensive postures of our sponsors. You’ll evaluate tools and methodologies, assess adversary intent, develop cybersecurity analytics and other techniques to thwart or detect attacks, develop approaches to automate cybersecurity operations, and engage in research to improve the state of the practice. Travel may be potential in this role as well.

Responsibilities:
• Writing scripts for automation, parsing data sets, and network monitoring (i.e., bash, Perl, Python, etc.) and performing network packet inspection, traffic analysis, performance characterization (i.e., Wireshark, TCPdump, etc.).
• Identification and mitigation of operational risks associated with planned approaches.
• Troubleshoot unexpected issues during tool deployment and operational use.
• Conduct follow-on actions to include log cleaning, privilege escalation, persistence techniques and lateral movement through networks.
• Thoroughly completing documentation and completing daily administrative tasks without supervision.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with polygraph.
• 7+ years of cyber security and information security practices and demonstrated proficiency securing complex environments.
• Extensive experience serving in a senior network security engineer position or other relevant cyber security position.
• Familiarity with penetration testing and concepts and tools.
• Competency in software testing and debugging.
• Have advanced networking knowledge.
• Ability to self-manage and self-direct day to day tasks working towards larger goals; able to work with limited oversight and able to work with a dynamic team with varying backgrounds.
• Experience in either the design, implementation, procurement or maintenance of various layers of network infrastructure.
• Understanding of network/cyber security, penetration testing and information security practices.
• Proficiency working in a Linux environment – CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Solaris, Kali.
• Understanding of Linux network security tools – Metasploit, netcat, nmap, etc.
• Experience using scripting languages for automation, parsing data sets, and network monitoring (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).
• Scripting languages: bash, Perl, Python, PowerShell, Git.
• Virtualization technologies: VMWare, vSphere, QEMU, Docker.
• Data management interfaces: Splunk, Elasticsearch.
• Experience configuring network devices (e.g., routers, switches, server, firewalls, etc.).
• Experience researching latest security developments and ability to implement security standards in a fast-paced environment.
Desired:
• Certifications: OSCP, OSWE, GXPN, GPEN or equivalent.
• Familiarity with commonly used large-scale service components (webservers, databases, load balancers, caching servers, storage clusters, etc.).
• Database experience, to include writing complex queries and modifying schemas (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).
• Experience performing network packet inspection, traffic analysis

The proposed salary range for this position is:
