Job Description

Day-to-day coordination of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program which encompasses the governance of Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Crisis management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain business recovery plans and procedures; review, revise and expand existing plans and protocols.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organization's operations, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the development and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical business functions and systems.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular training and awareness programs to enhance the organization's preparedness and response capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels and protocols to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information during a crisis or disruption.
  • Conduct regular exercises and simulations to assess the effectiveness of business continuity plans and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes related to business continuity management, and make recommendations for enhancements to the program as necessary.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders during a crisis or disruption, providing guidance and support.
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and executive leadership on the status of the business continuity program.
  • Lead the response and recovery efforts during incidents, ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to minimize the impact on the organization's operations and reputation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, risk management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business continuity management or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience in developing and implementing business continuity plans and strategies within a complex organizational structure.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and frameworks, such as ISO 22301 or NIST SP 800-34.
  • Experience in leading and facilitating crisis management exercises and simulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of technology systems and infrastructure, with the ability to assess their vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Desired
  • Professional certifications in business continuity management, such as CBCP or MBCI
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks related to business continuity management.
