Job Description

The Infrastructure Security Engineer is responsible for providing technical and operational expertise in information security systems, principles and practices to ensure the protection of patient health information managed by Intelerad’s hosted platform as well as any corporate infrastructure. As a Security Engineer, you will play a key role in the evolution of the security architecture and solutions in support of current and new infrastructure in both cloud-based and on-premise solutions. 

 

The incumbent contributes to improving the security culture by providing a security perspective on ongoing infrastructure development. 

 

This position requires strong technical knowledge, skills and expertise in Information Security as well as experience in infrastructure management. 

 

  • Participates in infrastructure security architecture planning for both on-premise and cloud-based solutions 

  • Provides expert advice to Infrastructure teams(such as Hosting and corporate IT) and acts as an Information Security subject matter expert on Infrastructure matters 

  • Conducts Infrastructure security threat and risk assessments for all IMS managed Infrastructures on a regular basis. 

  • Interprets risk assessment results for IMS managed Infrastructures. 

  • Works with team leads/managers for the assessment and prioritization of security related tasks within IMS managed infrastructures(corporate and hosted, for example). 

  • Participates in the Security response team as needed related to infrastructure vulnerabilities. 

  • Improves the adoption of security best practices in testing, automation and continuous integration pipelines 

  • Broadens infrastructure engineers’ awareness of secure infrastructure implementation and management best practices 

  • Heavily involved in Information Security Initiatives deployment and management. 

  • Key player in Information Security partners/consultants relations such as the Virtual Security Operation Center or any other third party testers.  

  • Evaluate new proposed IT/Hosting security related software systems or offerings and represent security needs in the vendor selection process. 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent field experience. 
  • 3-5 years of pertinent experience in IT Infrastructure and a minimum of 2 of those years of experience with a focus on Information Security. 
  • Strong knowledge of techniques, standards and state-of-the-art capabilities for authentication and authorization, applied cryptography, security vulnerabilities and remediation. 
  • Strong knowledge of information security from a strategic and tactical point of view. 
  • Experience with network devices such as Firewalls, Switches, and Routers. 
  • Excellent understanding of network architectures and protocols, operating systems, and core infrastructure security concepts and concerns. 
  • Preference will be given to people with experience in AWS, Azure or Google cloud security.
