About the Role

In line with the national growth agenda and strategy, our BDO Melbourne team continues to invest strongly in the Risk Advisory Services business.  As part of this investment, BDO is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced Cyber Security professionals to join our team across the following levels:

• Senior Manager
• Manager
• Assistant Manager
• Senior Consultant

You will have the opportunity to work across sectors including government as well as the private sector, under the guidance and mentorship of Partners with many decades of experience. 

Key responsibilities

Working with a dynamic group of Partners and broader team to further develop and grow the BDO Melbourne RAS practice, which include the following:

• Managing or delivering a variety of projects in accordance with BDO’s methodologies and procedures. This will include report writing and communicating with clients.
• Collaborating across various BDO teams to deliver valuable advice and precise recommendations to our clients in relation to their risks, technology, business, and other relevant initiatives.
• Leading or supporting business development activities including engaging with current and potential future clients, tracking potential engagement opportunities, and developing proposals
• Collaborating with the Partners and senior management to assist with scheduling of work across the practice.
• Making a valuable contribution to the development of junior staff through coaching, mentoring and training as appropriate. 
• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients (and the broader industry) and working with Partners in creating future business opportunities.
• Contributing positively to the knowledge base of BDO and helping to develop contemporary thinking in your chosen area of specialisation.
• Any other activities as required supporting the efficient management and function of the team.

About Risk Advisory Services (RAS)

BDO has experienced teams across Australia offering a range of risk advisory services to businesses and organisations in both the private and public sectors. An area of focussed growth within our Risk Advisory Services business is the delivery of Cyber Security advisory engagements.

About you

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with experience of delivering Cyber Security advisory services in a professional services environment.  You will have a track record of achievement and be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

• A strong internal drive, a growth mindset and aspirations for leadership opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (via reports, spreadsheets, presentations, emails, and in conversations), work in a multi-disciplinary team, manage engagements and deliverables.
• A strong track record of developing other team members whilst fostering a culture of high performance, psychological safety and shared success.
• Professional Services experience from global well-established consulting organisations, in Cyber Security.
• Experience of working in Australia with a preference for individuals who have experience in critical infrastructure, such as public sector, Higher Education, Financial Services and Healthcare.
• Depending on the seniority of the role being applied for, a strong business network, as well as a demonstrated ability to lead, or contribute to, client relationships and business development activities and initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of information security standards and frameworks, including (but not limited to) ISO27001, NIST CSF, ASD Essential 8 and VPDSF. 
• Strong knowledge of key information security domains, including (but not limited to) networks, identity and access, incident management, cloud and data protection technologies.
• Relevant qualifications including (but not limited to) CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CISA.
• A passion for innovation and emerging technology such as Artificial Intelligence, with an understanding on how to leverage them for consultancy engagements.
