Job Summary

As an active member of the Information Technology (IT) Security Team, the role of IT Security Analyst is designed for individuals with a strong background in end-user computing and a general understanding of networking and would like to take the next step into IT Security. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, takes ownership of tasks, and is a self-starter. This position offers significant growth opportunities, with the potential to advance into a senior IT security role.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the security of end-user computing environments
  • General understanding of Firewalls, VPC, and Network Access Controls.
  • Implement and manage security measures for Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Defender.
  • Develop and execute PowerShell scripts to automate security tasks and enhance system security.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure seamless integration of security measures with networking infrastructure.
  • Provide support to end-users on security practices and protocols.
  • Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance status.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Maintain IT Security Documentation.
  • Participate in incident response and disaster recovery planning.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security awareness programs.
  • Develop and implement Identity Access Management platform.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and selection of security tools and technologies.
  • Support the IT team in troubleshooting and resolving security-related issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Business Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT Security/End User Compute/Networking is required.
  • Strong understanding of end-user computing and its relationship with IT security.
  • General knowledge of networking principles and protocols.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Defender.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Self-motivated and able to take ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

The combination of compensation, benefits, and an entrepreneurial culture along with related experiences is key to recruiting and retaining talent.  Our compensation system is designed to reward performance, support development and job growth, and compensate individuals relative to their contribution to our organization. The base salary for this position falls within Nassau’s salary band D:  $80,000-$95,000 depending upon experience.
