- Leading and managing the software development efforts, including the development of new software applications and the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the software development team and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
- Leading and managing the application support team, ensuring that all applications are running smoothly and efficiently. This role will also be responsible for identifying and resolving technical issues, as well as implementing new features and functionality to improve the overall user experience
- Playing an integral role to direct technology leadership for Compliance, Risk and Audit system by ensuring that the integration between system, middleware technologies, and other connected systems within the ecosystem are well defined, as well as meet the needs and priorities of the business needs.
Key Responsibilities *
Overall technology strategy and direction for Compliance, Risk and Audit systems:
- Develop and implement technology strategies and plans that align with the business goals
- Lead the research and evaluation of any new projects to determine their potential value to the business
- Understand the business strategy, users experience, challenges and their inter-dependencies across multiple businesses and functions and help translate the business requirements into technical specification, development, and delivery strategies
- Direct the design, development, and maintenance of technology systems and infrastructure related to Compliance, Risk & Audit systems.
- Participate in the identification and evaluation of new technological developments and gauging their appropriateness for the business to drive improvement in systems synergies, capabilities, functionality, scalability, and reusability in the long run
- Manage the technology budget and resources, including staffing and vendor relationships in relation to technology projects for Compliance, Risk & Audit
- Collaborate with other executives and department / unit heads to identify and solve business problems with technology solutions
- Stay current with industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage related to Compliance, Risk & Audit
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to technology and data security for Compliance, Risk & Audit services
- Be the trusted technology business partner to pro-actively identify and address business challenges through recommendation and initiation of technology solutions and delivery
- Actively participate in the development of technology strategic plan to align with the strategic and tactical goals of the business plan
- Ensure appropriate security and privacy measures are implemented on technology solutions to protect data from intentional or accidental misuse and any form of cyber threats
Overall leadership and management of application support for Compliance, Risk & Audit systems:
- Lead and manage the application support team, ensuring all related applications are running smoothly and efficiently
- Identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Implement new features and functionality to improve the overall user experience
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that application support efforts align with the CIMB's overall goals and objectives
- Stay up to date with the latest application support trends and technologies
- Provide training and support to end-users as needed
- Create and maintain application support documentation and procedures
- Understand the business strategy, users experience, challenges, and their inter-dependencies across multiple sub-systems
- Provide oversight on development and systems integration and be accountable for maintaining and enforcing all planned releases and operational readiness
- Monitor, track and be accountable for the production and maintenance support and ensure that resolutions are within SLAs and act as the management contact point for escalation
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal / external partners and vendors
- Oversee cross-functional collaboration with other pillars within the unit and GT to analyse and manage operational risks, impact, interfaces and inter-dependencies of different system applications and projects across capabilities and jointly identify appropriate actions to address, improve and enhance systems performance including new initiatives for new processes and/or internal controls
Portfolio / project management and work force management:
- Implement integration governance processes and provide ongoing oversight
- Provide regular updates and reporting on production issues, projects status, spending and budget and risks at the function and project levels to relevant stakeholders
- Enforce and ensure that all applications, infrastructure components and project delivery are in accordance with CIMB Group’s established project and delivery management and SDLC methodology, processes and standards, Enterprise Architecture standards, IT governance and policies including Information Security, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning framework, applicable regulatory requirements, and auditors
- Actively conduct review with the leads to monitor projects progress, issues and risks associated with projects and provide guidance and direction for alternatives or solutions to meet and achieve the expected project deliverables
- Direct and be accountable for end-to-end technology program / project delivery and ensure all projects delivery are within agreed scope, timeline, quality, and budget
- Lead the forecast on resource requirements and plan the overall resource capacity based on projects prioritisation, scope, timeline, and dependencies and escalate resource and budget constraints for the necessary support
- Guide and support direct and indirect subordinates on arising issues and proactively remove obstacles to drive work/projects momentum and progress
- Mentor, motivate and develop team members by providing opportunities and skills development and fostering effective teamwork within the team and cross capabilities to achieve a high-level of performance, integration and consistency
Job Specification *
Qualifications
(Basic Degree/Diploma etc)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements
Added advantage with the following qualification(s):
- Certification in PMP, SCRUM Master, PRINCE2 and/or Agile
- ITIL V3 Foundation Certification
- Minimum 10 years in IT management, process, change or business analysis role with minimum 5 years of management experience in strategic planning, client management or business relationship role in large service or vendor based organisation or established banks/ financial institutions
- Extensive working experience with clear understanding of Cards and Consumer Banking related systems including the products lifecycle
- Strong track record of leading enterprise, large scale and/or cross-functional projects in a dynamic and complex environment
- Working experience in Enterprise Application Delivery with exposure to IT operations management and good knowledge of IT development, deployment, and testing processes
- Extensive experience in IT system review, design, development, implementation and user support principles and practices
- Experience working with senior leaders in the organisation and external IT partners/vendors and facilitate change within a function/ IT environment
- Experience in leading development and support teams in a collaborative multi-disciplinary and matrixed environment
