Senior Specialist - Aviation Cyber Security

General Civil Aviation Authority
Strategy, Policies, Plans, Regulation and Guidance material
- Contribute to the development of aviation cyber security provisions, policy, strategy documents, action plans and guidance material to ensure compliance with the ICAO, international and national requirements.
- Contribute to the development of guidance material on aviation cyber security risk assessment and management.
- Monitor emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities that could impact the safety and security of the civil aviation sector.
- Contribute to cyber risk assessments to identify and analyze vulnerabilities in civil aviation, in order to recommend mitigation measures and strategies.
- Collaborate with Departments within the AVSEC Sector on various aviation cyber security matters as well as across the GCAA to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Contribute to the update of the relevant sections of the AVSEC national regulations and programs.
- Support development and management of Aviation Cyber Security Incident Response Plan to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents effectively.
- Contribute in aviation investigations related to cyber security and cyber resilience.
- Conduct necessary research as required to support the preparation of reports, working, information and discussion papers, and other documents.
- Participate in aviation cyber security forums, workshops, meetings and other events.
- Provide expert advice on aviation cyber security framework to Assistant Director General.
Work program
- Contribute to the development of documents on aviation cyber security for meetings of the ICAO relevant Committees, the Aviation Security Panel and its working groups, the Cybersecurity Panel and its working groups, and other expert groups on international, regional and national level.
- Support collaboration and information sharing related to aviation cyber security.
- Draft correspondence and technical information on aviation cyber security for national and international entities.
- Support the continuous promotion of the GCAA’s aviation cyber security framework, including the aviation cyber security strategy and the cyber security action plan.
- Coordinate with senior leadership to integrate aviation cyber security within the overall aviation safety and security system.
- Support monitoring activities related to implementation of the GCAA national civil aviation cyber security strategy, action plan and aviation cyber security requirements from CARs and national programs.
- Support monitoring activities to ensure the implementation of GCAA’s aviation cyber security work program.
- Support the development of cyber security capacity building initiatives, in coordination with the GCAA business units and relevant stakeholders.
Coordination and Cyber Security Culture
- Contribute to development of the outreach strategies and promotional material to expand general awareness of GCAA’s aviation cyber security objectives and activities.
- Coordinate all matters related to aviation cyber security with the UAE Cybersecurity Council, stakeholders, industry etc.
- Contribute and support the GCAA Cybersecurity Taskforce.
- Contribute to the preparation and delivery of accurate and effective statements, speeches, presentations, etc., as required for events on aviation cyber security.
- Support the GCAA contributions on aviation cyber security matters for various meetings, progress reports etc., in coordination with relevant business units.
- Contribute to the planning and conduct of events in order to raise awareness on aviation cyber security and developing cyber security culture.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the aviation cyber security point of contact platform.
Internal Surveillance Program
- Implement corrective action raised against the Sector under the internal surveillance program to align with international and national standards and continuous improvement.
- Provide support and coordinate planning activities within GCAA, GCAA Cybersecurity Taskforce and the UAE Cybersecurity Council, stakeholders, industry etc.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Coordinate and contribute in the development of internal processes for continuous improvement and management of the Aviation Cyber Security.
Aviation Security Planning
- Assist in development and coordination of the annual plan pertaining to aviation cyber security activities of Aviation Security Affairs Sector.
- Plan and coordinate aviation cyber security training requirements within the Aviation Security Affairs Sector.
- Assist in the development of the aviation cyber security training plan for the Aviation Security Affairs Sector.
Aviation Cyber Security Publication
- Maintain the Aviation Cyber Security e- Library in coordination with the IT Department.
- Ensure and coordinate the currency of aviation cyber security publications and documentation posted on the GCAA portal for knowledge sharing.
- Assist in communicating updates pertaining to Aviation Cyber Security through AVSEC web board.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Preferably a degree from a University/College or professional qualification with 5 years’ relevant work experience
