Location:                    Colorado Springs, CO

Salary:                        $17.00 - $20.00/ Hour

Part Time:                  20 – 25 hours/ Week

Clearance:                 The ability to obtain a Secret

Education:                 Associate Degree in related field or in process of obtaining

Experience:               0-3 Years

OVERVIEW

Are you a tech-savvy student or an early-career professional looking to gain real-world experience in cybersecurity? Caribou Thunder is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Intern to join our team in Colorado Springs! If you’re eager to put your skills to work in a hands-on environment and help protect critical systems, we want to hear from you.

REQUIREMENTS

1.    Assist with configuring and maintaining cybersecurity tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus).

2.    Support helpdesk operations and troubleshoot IT issues across Windows and Apple devices.

3.    Perform security audits and contribute to compliance reviews of system configurations.

4.    Document findings, track progress, and create reports related to cybersecurity activities.

5.    Help implement and maintain security protocols across internal networks and applications.

6.    Gain exposure to cybersecurity frameworks and government IT compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.    Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite, including Intune, Entra, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.

2.    Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and general IT infrastructure.

3.    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

4.    Experience or interest in helpdesk troubleshooting.

5.    Must be local to Colorado Springs – this role requires regular in-office presence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

6.    CompTIA Security+ or similar certification.

7.    Knowledge of CMMC, NIST frameworks, or government IT compliance.

8.    Pursuing or holding a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.

9.    Previous experience in IT support or helpdesk roles.

10. Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and network security concepts

11. Working knowledge of ThreatLocker, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Windows and Apple devices.
