Overview

Deutsche Bank is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Hygiene Application Code Scanning Engineer to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the Bank’s application code by implementing and managing automated code scanning tools, identifying vulnerabilities, and collaborating with development teams to drive secure coding practices. Your work will play a key role in maintaining Deutsche Bank’s high standards for cyber hygiene and application security.

What You’ll Do

• Application Code Scanning: Integrate static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST) for bank applications into centralized systems, ensuring that vulnerabilities in the application code are identified and remediated early in the software development lifecycle

• Vulnerability Detection and Remediation: Integrate security vulnerabilities within binary code into centralized systems

• Tool Implementation & Optimization: Configure, maintain, and optimize code scanning tools and platforms (e.g., Veracode, Checkmarx, Snyk) to maximize effectiveness and integrate them into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) (CI/CD) pipeline for continuous security testing

• Collaboration with Development Teams: Collaborate with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure that secure coding practices are integrated into the software development process, and assist in resolving security issues identified during code scans

• Secure Code Practices: Assist in establishing and promoting secure coding standards, best practices, and guidelines across the organization, ensuring that security is embedded in the development lifecycle from the start

Skills You’ll Need

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Groovy, C# or similar and knowledge of Artifactory, including experience in developing plugins

• Knowledge of Artifactory plugins. Good understanding and hands-on experience with application programming interface (API), REST, WebHooks

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and solve issues

• Intermediate experience in software engineering and understanding of application security is plus

• Knowledge of static and dynamic application security testing tools (e.g., Checkmarx, Veracode, or similar) is desired

• Ability to pay close attention to detail and identify subtle vulnerabilities that might otherwise be overlooked

• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, Information Technology (IT), and security experts

• A proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate challenges and take preventive measures to enhance application security

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, with a strong ability to adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Jacksonville is $60,000 to $86,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
