We are looking for a confident and accomplished cyber analytics leader to spearhead the development of first-class cyber risk analytics and modelling capabilities.

This newly created role directly supports this aspiration. Sitting as part of the Global team and working directly with a range of senior stakeholders at both Global and Regional levels, the successful candidate will lead the development of first-class cyber analytics and modelling capabilities.
Flexible on location, however, the successful candidate may be required to travel around regional hubs (UK, Europe, North America and ANZ) to support the development of DUAL’s global cyber proposition.
Role responsibilities
As a member of the Global team, you will own the global cyber analytics strategy and play a key role in the positioning of DUAL as a market leader in cyber.
Using your analytics expertise to help drive the development of a data rich platform and elicit actionable insights from a wide range of data sources spanning modelling, production, loss performance, pricing, incident response and 24/7 threat monitoring.
Developing critical data insights and leveraging these to refine global cyber underwriting and distribution strategy.
Building collaborative relationships with other global team leaders including Group Head of Emerging Products, Group Head of Underwriting Analytics, Head of Threat Intelligence, Head of Claims & Incident Response and Head of Cyber Pricing.
Helping select and develop regional analytics leads and acting as a global subject matter expert.
Support strategic engagements with global carrier and broker partners.
Provide systemic risk thought leadership, confidently articulating DUAL’s approach to cyber analytics to capacity providers and at industry events, positioning DUAL as a cyber market leader.
Collaborate with regional underwriters and other departments to develop first class cyber exposure management and analytics that enable portfolio wide strategic decisions and risk selection optimisation.
Ownership of cyber vendor model evaluations and developing proprietary DUAL view of risk.
Support Actuarial colleagues with continuously feeding data to enhance dynamic risk pricing methodologies.
Build and manage relationships with modelling vendors to identify best practices. Participate in the evaluation and selection of other cyber vendor partners.
Support with zero day / widespread event analysis, working with cyber model vendors and provide output for consumption by underwriters and capacity providers.
Horizon scanning for next-generation cyber analytical capabilities that could offer DUAL a commercial advantage.
Provide oversight and strategic direction for technology initiatives that evolve DUAL’s cyber analytics and exposure management capabilities.
Working with Power BI Developers to design dashboards and reports that allow management to slice and dice across DUAL’s global cyber portfolio and rapidly assess the impact of ‘as-if’ scenarios.
Key requirements
Confident and accomplished cyber analytics lead with expert knowledge of the leading cyber catastrophe vendor models (e.g. CyberCube / RMS).
Strong understanding of the key metrics used to manage performance in a multi-national insurance intermediary business.
Excellent research skills and experience leading the development of proprietary cyber views of risk, based on vendor model strengths and limitations.
Demonstrable track record delivering impactful cyber insights to senior underwriting stakeholders.
Advanced SQL and Excel (including VBA) skills. Familiarity with Power BI and one or more coding language an advantage.
Pragmatic – able to translate cyber analytics to business stakeholders and strong at identifying solutions and / or solving problems.
Consultative and collaborative style - actively listens to the views of colleagues, but also has the strength of character to challenge where required.
Strong commercial acumen and stays abreast with current issues affecting the industry.
Proven ability to rapidly understand the commercial and business context when working with new data and domains.
