Internship Opportunity: Junior Scientist – Scam Research Lab (SRL)

About the Role

At SRL, we research and develop innovative solutions to mitigate emerging threats and safeguard users from sophisticated cyber-attacks. As AI technology advances, so do the tactics of threat actors—leveraging AI for large-scale, automated scams. Our mission is to stay ahead of these threats with cutting-edge detection and prevention strategies.

We are looking for a talented and motivated Junior Scientist to contribute to state-of-the-art research in privacy, transparency, and AI-driven security solutions.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct advanced cybersecurity research in the fields of privacy, transparency, and AI.

• Develop novel security solutions used by millions of users worldwide.

• Stay ahead of the latest cybersecurity threats by analysing state-of-the-art research.

• Contribute to the development of AI models designed to detect and prevent emerging scams.

What We’re Looking For:

• Currently enrolled in the penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, AI, or a related field.

• Strong research and technical writing skills.

• Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, etc).

• A problem-solving mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.

• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Bonus Points:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).

• Understanding of privacy and transparency issues, with exposure to relevant conferences.

• Experience working on cross-functional projects.
