Department Overview 

Our Internal Audit Department provides internal audit and J-SOX assessment services for various business areas in Japan and abroad. 

Our mission is to contribute to the realization of effective risk management and organizational improvement through auditing and other activities. 

The Internal Audit Department, which carries out cross-organizational work, also acts as a hub for information collaboration with many organizations and plays a role in spreading better initiatives within the organization. 

The Internal Audit Department consists of seven sections, with a total of around 50 audit staff working on a daily basis. The audits cover domestic and overseas operations and subsidiaries, with the exception of the financial subsidiaries.

Why We Hire 

Due to the rapid growth of Rakuten group, we need to expand our security auditing team. 

Position Details 

- Information Security Audit (including, but not limited to ISMS audits in Japan) 

*Work assignment will be determined according to candidates’ experience and skills, etc. 

When carrying out audit work, we check for deficiencies in comparison with the company's security rules and best practices, mainly by 

- Conducting interviews 

- Examining the evidence 

- Determining the findings 

- Providing feedback

- Supporting for improvement 

When deficiencies are found, the team provides remediation support in cooperation with the second-line organization (consulting work). 

As our team is also responsible for mobile, you will also have the opportunity to be involved in security audits for mobile carriers. 

Our team supports the information security management department and other relevant organisations in making improvements to the Rakuten Group-wide security issues identified through each individual audit. This is a company-wide security enhancement initiative and a very challenging task. 

Most of the time we use Japanese to carry out our work, so don’t worry about English. But for those who want to use English, there are also plenty of opportunities to do so.

Work Environment 

The Internal Audit Department as a whole has around 50 members, ranging in age mainly from their 20s to their 40s. 

It is almost entirely made up of mid-career hires, but there are also some new graduates.  

Mandatory Qualifications: 

- Individuals with over 2 years of experience in audits and other tasks related to security and IT

Desired Qualifications: 

- Experienced individuals in information security/IT auditing, etc., who have worked in audit firms or consulting companies

- English language skills (when interviewing people who only speak English in the company
