Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary:

Streamline Innovations, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Cybersecurity Engineer for its San Antonio office. The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for protecting the organizations’ information systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role involves proactive monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents while continuously analyzing and addressing potential vulnerabilities. The Cybersecurity Engineer also collaborates on security initiatives across departments and contributes to the development of security best practices and awareness.

Job Duties:

• Assist in strengthening the company’s cybersecurity posture by implementing and optimizing security measures across business-critical applications, ensuring protection of sensitive data and continuity of operations.
• Facilitate the completion of Plan of Action & Milestones (POAM) items by coordinating with relevant teams, tracking progress, and ensuring timely resolution of identified security gaps and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan, ensuring robust preparedness for cyber incidents and strengthening the organization’s resilience and rapid recovery capabilities.
• Monitor and review security events using SIEM tools to identify, investigate, and respond to potential threats, ensuring timely detection and mitigation of cybersecurity risks.
• Monitor networks, system & endpoints for unusual activity or security breaches.
• Regularly review firewall rules and endpoint protection policies to improve defenses.
• Document standard operating procedures and create playbooks for common security scenarios.
• Lead the review of vulnerability assessments, identify key risks, and develop a comprehensive plan of action to address and remediate identified vulnerabilities across the organization’s systems and networks.
• Manage the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of endpoint protection software, ensuring continuous threat detection and seamless integration.
• Identify and assess security risks in cloud environments including misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps, to ensure robust protection and adherence to security best practices.
• Other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT/OT Cybersecurity
• 1-2 years of experience with AWS
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and apply threat intelligence to anticipate and mitigate security threats.
• Understanding of endpoint security tools (EDR solutions) and strategies to secure end user devices and servers.
• Strong knowledge of incident response procedures, including containment, eradication, and recovery from security incidents.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus.
• Familiarity with Security Information and Event management tools.
• Experience securing cloud environments and understanding of cloud security frameworks.
