AT&T has an opening for a Cybersecurity Architect – Principal. This role ensures that the stakeholder security requirements necessary to protect the organization mission and processes are adequately addressed in all aspects of enterprise architecture including reference models, segment and solution architectures, and the resulting systems supporting those missions and processes. The role will be responsible for implementing data security solutions for operations and secure data flows between work zones.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develop/integrate cybersecurity designs for systems and networks with multilevel security requirements or requirements for the processing of multiple classification levels of data primarily applicable to organization.
• Document and address organizational information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements throughout applicable equipment, Software Development, and/or system life cycles.
• Employ secure configuration management processes.
• Ensure that acquired or developed system(s) and architecture(s) are consistent with organizational cybersecurity architecture guidelines.
• Identify and prioritize critical security functions in collaboration with organizational stakeholders.
• Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan.
• Define and document how the implementation of a new system or new interfaces between systems impacts the security posture of the current environment.
• Evaluate security architectures and designs to determine the adequacy of security design and architecture proposed or provided in response to requirements contained in planning documents.
• Determine and document the protection needs for the information system(s) and network(s).
• Assist all organizational employees and customers in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
• Supervise cybersecurity architects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SOC, IT, DevSecOps, and cloud security teams) to align security architecture with business needs and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee security initiatives, designing and implementing solutions that enhance security efficiency while reducing operational overhead.
• Automate using scripting and orchestration tools (Python, XSOAR) to streamline security operations.
Required Clearance

Required Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree with at least eight (8) years’ experience in cybersecurity. Four additional years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
• Motivated self-starter with extensive experience in briefing senior personnel, developing cybersecurity policies, and collaborating across teams to enhance security operations.
• Practical hands-on expertise in two or more of the following areas: vulnerability management, data loss prevention, insider threat, system/user lifecycle management, enterprise firewalls, SIEM, penetration testing, incident response, and/or forensic investigations.
• Knowledge of information technology architecture and topology design.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cybersecurity initiatives, prioritize stakeholder needs, and implement security solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in scripting and automation of cybersecurity tasks.
• Experience improving cybersecurity in the government sector, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of cloud-native security controls and impacts, including designing and deploying security controls in hybrid cloud environments.
Desired Qualifications
• Hands-on experience implementing secure cloud solutions.
• Relevant industry certifications or classes such as, but not limited to:
- Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA),
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE),
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA),
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE),
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert,
- Passed AZ-800 (Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure),
- Passed AZ-801 (Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services),
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Security,
- CompTIA Server+, and/or
- DoD Service Occupational Specialty coursework.
Our Cybersecurity Architect – Principal's earn between $108,000 - $190,000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
