The impact you will have in this role

The Cyber Threat Defense & Controls Team is responsible for assessing and managing the coverage, quality and effectiveness of the security monitoring tools. The intern will be assigned to the CTDC and will shadow the CTDC associate. The associate will spend the first 3 weeks going through the different CTDC activities, tools, and processes with the intern. After the initial overview, the associate will train the intern on an entry-level security content creation activity and provide oversight of the intern’s work while on the assignment. The intern will join the weekly/bi-weekly team meetings to gain exposure to the CTDC across locations. The intern will also shadow the associate as they work through their daily activities like content creation, creating coverage metrics and providing insight into more advanced enablement activities performed by the team. The CTDC Manager (US) will conduct weekly 1-on-1 meetings with the intern to answer questions and gain feedback on the program. 

 
Your Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in the analysis of project requirements and Contribute to the development and improvement of security detection, Incident response. 
  • Experience in developing and refining playbooks, SOPs etc. 
  • Implementation, configuration and management of SIEM solution. 
  • Perform fine-tuning complex correlation rules, log source integration with SIEM.

 Qualifications: 

  • Candidates must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in the following curriculums and graduating no later than May 2026: Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, MIS or Business & Technology Management or any other equivalent specialization. 
  • Candidates should have interest in and basic understanding of programming languages and various infrastructure platforms. 
  • Candidates must have minimum of a 3.2 GPA or equivalent grade to be considered.

  • Must demonstrate superior analytical and communication skills.  
  • Strong interest in the financial services industry, with previous internship experience a plus. 
  • Good written & oral communication skills  
  • Motivated self-starter. 
  • Ability to grasp new concepts.  
  • Ability to work within a team environment. 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. 
  • Good written & oral communication skills 
  • Proficient computer and technical skills (Particularly with Microsoft Office Suite) 
  • Current college/university student.
