DevSecOps Principal Engineer

Chubb's Information Technology group manages all our critical business systems and data including, for example, information about customers, rates, premium and expenses. Our Information Technology team is dedicated to creating competitive advantages in products, customer services and business costs by driving digital transformation in our business with a modernized focus on agile methodology and data analytics. 

As a Principal Software Engineer for DevOps discipline on our team, you’ll play a key role in supporting our digital transformation journey by leading a team of developers to design, build and implement the automation to continuously integrate and deploy large-scale applications involving APIs and UIs, both in cloud and on-premises, that will be leveraged across the business. You’ll be both hands-on and strategic, diving deep into the solution and code artifacts, and establishing technical roadmaps that your team will act upon to deliver quality and scalable solutions. You will also have the opportunity to directly engage with leadership to ensure these software solutions align with business objectives.   

This person should have a passion to understand and apply engineering and architectural design patterns for modern environments, while learning how to manage and prioritize technology decisions over a portfolio of applications and drive modernization initiatives. As a senior role within the organization, this person is expected to coach and mentor other members of the extended team and have the ability to communicate and negotiate within other senior technical and business leaders in order to articulate the right prioritization of activities. This role will also support learning, development and coordination activities for our DevSecOps chapter within the region.

This position's location is in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, will be worked in a Hybrid work scheme.  

• 8+ years of hand-on experience as DevOps engineer, designing, building and maintaining CI/CD automation pipelines using tools such as Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, JIRA
• 4+ years of hands-on, full-stack development experience building end-to-end software applications utilizing the modern technologies as Net, C#, MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, Microservices, Single Page Applications in Angular, Grafana
• Experience and deep understanding of cloud solutions, preferably Azure, for its design and implementation
• Experience in containerizing applications using Docker & Kubernetes 
• Deep understanding of both relational and non-relational databases (SQL Server and Mongo DB preferred), including database design models, database performance optimization
• Demonstrated experience developing REST based APIs using Service Oriented or Microservice architecture, Open API Specification and/or creating specifications w/Swagger 
• Knowledge of messaging queue tools such as Kafka  
• Solid understanding of Software Engineering patterns and application in refactoring scenarios
• Experience in enterprise / legacy middleware and B2B integration patterns (batch and online)
• Experience in cloud environments with PaaS solutions (Azure preferred)
• High level understanding of architecture modeling / concepts
• Experience evaluating / comparing technologies / products using both functional and non-functional requirements
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and other containerization solutions 
• Highly organized, possessing strong analytical abilities
• Excellent written/verbal skills
• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.
• Ability to interact well with various levels of the organization
• Ability to quickly learn project processes and their incorporation into the tools utilized.
