Our Raytheon Global Ethics & Compliance (GEC) team has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Counsel Data Privacy and Cybersecurity to join the GEC Global Compliance Programs reporting to the Assistant General Counsel Privacy, Cyber and Human Rights.  As a member of the Global Compliance team, the Associate Director will provide day-to-day legal support to the Raytheon organization on all aspects of Data Privacy and Cybersecurity law.  The Associate Director will partner with various stakeholders across the company to provide real-time legal support to the business and ensure compliance in a complex and evolving regulatory landscape.

While this role covers both Data Privacy and Cybersecurity, a large majority of the time and work will focus on Data Privacy, roughly an 80/20 split. 

What You Will Do

  • Provide day-to-day legal support to the Raytheon organization on all aspect of Data Privacy and Cybersecurity law
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of data privacy and cybersecurity policies, standard work, playbooks, guidance, templates, and develop and deliver general awareness and targeted training
  • Partner with various stakeholders across the company to provide real-time, compliant Data Privacy and Cybersecurity advice to support business needs
  • Collaborate closely with enterprise-wide colleagues including the RTX Chief Privacy Counsel and Chief Cybersecurity Counsel
  • Assist the Risk Monitor and Analytics team with metrics building, risk monitoring and control review
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and regular compliance-related risk assessments and develop and implement action plans
  • Review and negotiate Data Privacy and Cybersecurity contracts terms for supplier and customer contracts
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on the data privacy and cybersecurity aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures (MA&D), including on MA&D agreements, representations and warranties, and diligence
  • Manage the Raytheon Data Protection Officer (DPO) network and data privacy compliance manager
  • Travel up to 10% of the time
  • Possible Work Locations: VA - Arlington or MA - Tewksbury

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of legal experience, including 5 years of experience with Global Privacy and Cybersecurity Laws
  • Juris Doctor, admitted to practice law in the U.S. and holds active law license
  • Experience advising and counseling clients on U.S. and Global Data Privacy and/or cybersecurity law, regulations and government policies, including incident response, investigations, and compliance
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts with data privacy terms including GDPR
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience reviewing contracts, providing data privacy and cybersecurity advice, and providing business support
  • Strong investigative, analytical, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability and ability to make decisions efficiently and quickly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment while organizing and managing multiple responsibilities and projects with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Effective team builder and team player that fosters collaborative relationships

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
